  • Description of the Prior Art Recovery and containment of hazardous substances is a continuing problem for industries that encounter spills, leaks, or other contaminated waste in their normal course of business. Indeed, the potential for a liquid chemical leak or spill exists wherever chemicals are used. Any industry handling potentially harmful material is subject to legal, economic and other consequences resulting from delayed, inadequate, or otherwise improper containment of hazardous chemical spills. In the shipping industry alone, millions of dollars are spent rectifying situations involving hazardous chemical spills. For example, the trucking industry is continually faced with spills of fuel or other potentially hazardous chemicals.

  • These straps 52 may include a becket latch or other fastening system that allows the user to adjust the height of one or more corners of the containment device by adjusting the length of each strap 52.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif portable de confinement de matières dangereuses pouvant être déployé rapidement, adapté pour recevoir et conserver des matières dangereuses. Le dispositif de confinement comprend une structure pouvant être manipulée facilement et rapidement, passant d'une configuration érigée ouverte à une configuration affaissée compacte. La structure du dispositif de confinement comprend des tiges (16), des moyeux (12, 18), et une partie supérieure (14) de recouvrement. Chaque tige (16) est connectée par pivotement à une autre tige (16) par l'intermédiaire d'une connexion croisée entre les extrémités des tiges. De plus, l'extrémité de chaque tige (16) est connectée par pivotement à un moyeu (12, 18), chaque moyeu pouvant recevoir plusieurs tiges (16).
