ADVERTIZING METHOD AND DEVICE
Technical Field
The present invention relates, in general, to advertizing methods and devices and, more particularly, to an advertizing method and device allowing a sign to be backgrounded with a scattered image.
Background Art
As well known to those skilled in the art, various kinds of advertizing methods and devices are proposed. In particular, the advertizing methods and devices for representing various effects within a restricted space are sought for.
The applicant of this invention was granted a Korean Patent No. 223516 entitled "an advertizing method and device" .
The prior art invention of the patent provides an advertizing device, including a housing in the form of a box, a transparent projection plate mounted to the front portion of the housing and having an opaque sign, a printed film positioned in the housing and having printed transparent or translucent shapes and/or colors on its surface, a conveying roller to move the printed film at the back of the projection plate and an illuminating means to illuminate light through the film.
However, according to the prior art invention, since the method and device illuminate light through the printed film onto the projection plate, there is a limitation in providing a sign with a scattered background image.
Disclosure of the Invention
Accordingly, the present invention has been made keeping in mind the above problems occurring in the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide an advertizing method and device allowing a sign to be backgrounded with a scattered image.
In order to accomplish the above object, the present invention provides an advertizing method, illuminating light through a printed film at the back of a projection plate, characterized in that the printed film is conveyed at a velocity range of 0.5-10 cm/sec and the illuminated light is scattered in the process of passing through the projection plate.
The invention further provides an advertizing device, including a housing in the form of a box, a transparent projection plate mounted to the front portion of the housing and having an opaque sign, a printed film positioned in the housing and having printed transparent or translucent shapes and/or colors on its surface, a conveying roller to move the printed film at the back of the projection plate and illuminating means to illuminate light through the film, characterized in that a plurality of scattering protrusions are formed on the rear surface of the projection plate and are spaced apart from the printed film by 4-50 mm.
Brief Description of the Drawings
The above and other objects, features and other advantages of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 is a partially cutaway front view of an advertizing device according to the preferred embodiment of this invention;
Fig. 2 is a sectional side view of Fig. 1; and Fig. 3 is a perspective view, showing a projection plate of the advertizing device according to the embodiment .
Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
Fig. 1 is a partially cutaway front view, showing an advertizing device according to the preferred embodiment of this invention. Fig. 2 is a sectional side view of
Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a perspective view, showing a
projection plate of the advertizing device according to the embodiment .
As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, an advertizing device, according to the preferred embodiment of this invention, comprises a housing C, a projection plate M, a printed film F, two conveying rollers R and an illuminating means
L.
The housing C is in the form of a box and defines the contour of the device. The projection plate M is mounted to the front portion of the housing C, the projection plate M being made of a transparent material. A plurality of scattering protrusions 3 are formed on the rear surface of the projection plate M, while an opaque sign (a) adheres to the front surface of the projection plate M.
The printed film F is made of a transparent synthetic resin thin film, is flexible and is hardly deformed in a longitudinal direction. A variety of transparent or translucent shapes and/or colors are printed on the outer surface of the film F by various printing techniques, such as, a silk-screen process.
The conveying rollers R consist of a drive roller la and a driven roller lb, the drive roller la being spaced apart from the driven roller lb. A driving means (not shown) is connected to and drives the drive roller la. The printed film F is positioned around the drive roller la and the driven roller lb. Therefore, the conveying velocity of the printed film F depends on the rotating velocity of the drive roller la, the conveying velocity of the printed film F being preferably 0.5-10 cm/sec.
The illuminating means L comprises a source of light, such as, multiple fluorescent lamps 4. The illuminating means L may further comprise multiple reflecting plates 5 so as to reflect the light from the source of light to the projection plate M.
Incidentally, the scattering protrusions are preferably spaced apart from the printed film by 4-50 mm. That is, when the spacing is narrower than 4 mm, a friction between the protrusions and the film may occur so that a costly precision design is required. On the
other hand, when the spacing is wider than 50 mm, projected light must travel too far so that the projected image is not obvious.
Operation of the advertizing device according to the embodiment is described in the following.
In order to operate the advertizing device, the driving means, consisting of a motor (not shown) and a speed reducer (not shown) , is turned on. Since the drive roller la is rotated by the driving means, the printed film F is conveyed upwards by the action of the friction between the drive roller la and the printed film F.
On the other hand, since the fluorescent lamps 4 are also turned on at that time, the light from the fluorescent lamps 4 is illuminated on the printed film F and the projection plate M. As a result, the shapes and/or colors on the film F are projected to the projection plate M. That is, the shapes and/or colors become a moving background for the opaque sign on the projection plate M. In addition, since a plurality of the scattering protrusions 3 are formed on the rear surface of the projection plate M, the light from the fluorescent lamps 4 is scattered in the process of passing through the projection plate M. Therefore, the shapes and/or colors on the film F are shown in an enlarged form or a mosaic form to a view, thereby giving a stronger visual stimulus. When a user varies the shape or color on the film F, the background may be represented in a variety of ways . Incidentally, the visual effect by the printed film F is varied pursuant to the conveying velocity of the printed film F. When the conveying velocity is fast, dynamic representation is possible. When the conveying velocity is slow, subdued representation is possible. The conveying velocity may be set according to the use or the desired function of the advertizement . Nevertheless, when the conveying velocity is faster than 10 cm/sec, viewers may not identify the shape and color on the film F or the printed film F may be cut. When the conveying velocity is slower than 0.5 cm/sec, a stimulus may not be given to
the viewer. So, 0.5-10 cm/sec is preferred as a range of conveying velocities of the printed film F.
In brief, according to the advertizing device of the embodiment, the opaque sign S is viewed with projected shapes and colors for a background.
According to this invention, is provided an advertizing method and device allowing a sign to be backgrounded with a scattered image.
Industrial Applicability
An advertizing method and device of this invention is applicable to an outdoor advertizement as well as an indoor advertizement. When the advertizing method and device of this invention is applied to the indoor advertizement, the method and device also provides an effect of interior decoration.
Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
