Abstract

The regulation of the quantity of coating powder discharged is fairly slow in conventional powder coating devices due to the long distance between the coating reservoir and the discharge device. Another disadvantage is that the coating reservoir cannot be refilled without interrupting the operation of the device. According to the invention, an intermediate reservoir (20) is provided near the discharge device (12). This intermediate reservoir is smaller than the coating reservoir (18) and is supplied with powder coating from the coating reservoir by a coating reservoir conveyor device (22). The coating powder is conveyed from the intermediate reservoir to the discharge device (12) by an intermediate reservoir conveyor device. The installed maximum conveying capacity of the coating reservoir conveyor device (22) is greater than that of the discharge device (12), which ensures that the intermediate reservoir (20) is always full.
