Abstract

A lamp (11) comprising an integral rod or tube like member comprising a light generating source (12, 120) located in a volume (13) at or near one end of the member and a cane (15) extending to a light output face (16) at the other end of the member to the one end by means of which light originating from the light generating source (12, 120) is emitted from the lamp (11).
