  • the electret media When added to a dryer in the process of the invention, the electret media will act to remove particulate soil, dust, hair, microbes and the like from the fabrics and from the dryer itself. In this regard the soil may transfer directly from the fabrics being treated to the electret material, or the soil may initially be taken up by the turbulent air within the machine from which it is filtered by the electret media.

  • the electret material may be provided in the form of a fabric sheet which is simply added to the dryer along with the fabrics to be treated and the carrier sheet . In such cases the sheet may have a thickness of between 10 and 1000 microns.
  • the electret sheet may be bonded or otherwise attached to the carrier sheet, such as for example a backing sheet.
  • the electret fibres are used in the manufacture of the carrier sheet by being woven intimately with the carrier sheet substrate fibres.
  • an odour neutralising material is the product is " Neutrafelhacrin "TM which is produced by Mitsubishi Synthetic Fibres Co and which comprises a deodorising polyacrylonitrile fibre.
  • the fibre has powdered chitosan added during production of the raw fibres.
  • a further example of such a material is produced by Kurary/ Takeda under the Trade Name "Shine Up” , which material comprises a fibre having a ceramic based material which removes odours on exposure to light specifically by converting aceto-aldehydes present in mal -odours to acetic acid, which then reacts with substances such as ammonia within the caramic .
  • the doedorising fibres of the invenbtion may act by either adsorbtion or chemical breakdown of adours .
  • the deodorising fibres may be added to the dryer as part of the carrier sheet, or as part of a doedorising fabric sheet. Indeed, the separate sheet may comprise some deodorising fibres and some electret fibres .
  • the process includes the step of placing the fabrics and carrier sheet in a bag, before placing the bag in the dryer.
  • the bag comprises means for containing the fabrics and carrier sheet while permitting airflow through the bag.

  • the user simply removes the substrate from the packaging, separate a tear-off portion from the body of the carrier sheet, and use the tear off portion to pre-treat the clothes by rubbing it against the soiled areas as needed.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement faisant intervenir une feuille de support imprégnée d'une composition de traitement. Ce procédé consiste à : placer un ou plusieurs articles textiles ainsi que la feuille de support dans un séchoir ; et effectuer une opération de séchage, le procédé étant caractérisé en ce qu'un adsorbant de sol supplémentaire, tel qu'un textile électret ou une matière neutralisant les odeurs, est ajouté au séchoir.
