Description

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING FINGERPRINT RECOGNITION TYPE DOOR LOCK OPERATION
TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a method for controlling a fingerprint recognition door lock operation, and in particular to an improved method for controlling a fingerprint recognition device which is capable of implementing a dual security system for opening and closing a door using a fingerprint and a PIN (Personal Identification Number) number corresponding to the fingerprint .
DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART In a modern society, in order not to disclose any kinds of information, a door system is secured at home, office and the like from visitors or strangers.
Nowadays, a dual door securing system is being used more than ever. For the above-described dual door securing system, a method for locking a door using a conventional key and a method for opening and closing a door based on a recognition of a fingerprint are generally used.
According to the fingerprint recognition door lock apparatus, in its state that an user stores a fingerprint in a memory, when opening and closing a door, the fingerprint is inputted and recognized by the door system. If the inputted fingerprint is matched with the stored fingerprint, the door gets opened. Otherwise, it does not get opened. The currently used fingerprint recognition door lock apparatus is directed to a door lock adapting a 1:1 method. In this door lock system, a door user stores a PIN number and a fingerprint corresponding to the PIN number in order for the door system to recognize the fingerprint of the user.
In addition, in the 1:1 door lock system, since a key pad including its functions such as an additional fingerprint registration and deletion is installed on the outside the door, the visotor may open the door without a permission of the user if he or she knows how to operate the system.
In the conventional fingerprint recognition door lock system, the number of the fingerprints to be stored is limited. In other words, one user can only store one fingerprint. If a finger of the user having a fingerprint stored in the door system is damaged, the user cannot open the door.
DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly, it is an objective of the present invention to provide a method for controlling a fingerprint recognition door lock operation which is capable of implementing a dual security door system by installing function keys of a key pad on the inside of a door, installing numeral keys on the outside of the door for inputting a PIN number for thereby preventing the function keys from being operated from the outside of the door, storing a fingerprint and PIN number of a master user and a fingerprint and PIN number of an user into a fingerprint recognition type door lock system, and registering a fingerprint of a new user after the fingerprint and PIN number of the master user are inputted when additionally registering a new user.
To achieve the above-mentioned objective, there is a method provided for controlling a fingerprint recognition type door lock system according to the present invention, which includes the steps of registering a door user having a priority as a master user wherein registrational and functional operations of the user excluding the master are performed based on a permission of the master, and the door opens and closes from the outside when a PIN number and fingerprint of an user are matched with the PIN number and fingerprint stored in a installed memory in the system by providing an inner key pad having a certain number of function keys inside the door and an outer key pad having a certain number of numeral numbers outside the door for inputting a PIN number.
Other additional advantages, objectives and features of the invention will become more apparent in the following description .
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The present invention will become more fully understood in the detailed descriptions given herembelow and the accompanying drawings which are given by illustrations only, and wherein:
Figure 1 is a schematic block diagram illustrating a fingerprint recognition door lock driving block;
Figure 2 is a flow chart illustrating a door lock driving control method based on its master; and Figure 3 is a flow chart illustrating a door lock driving control method based on a door user according to the present invention.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION The embodiments of the method for controlling a fingerprint recognition type door lock system according to the present invention will be explained with the accompanying drawings as references.
In the present invention, there are a fingerprint recognition window 1 for recognizing a fingerprint of an user and an optical lens 2 for transferring the fingerprint recognized by the fingerprint recognition window 1 to a programmable logic device 3 for processing the transferred fingerprint via the optical lens 2 as a data. And an external terminal connection port 7 exists for transferring a signal used for controlling the operation of the fingerprint recognition door lock apparatus and operating as a communication access unit with an external communication unit, a CPU (Central Processing Unit) 4 for controlling each element of the system, a flash memory 5 for storing a control logic operated in the CPU 4, a DRAM 6 for storing the data corresponding to the fingerprint, a door inner key pad 8 having a plurality of function keys used when an user operates the functions of the door lock apparatus, and a door outer key pad 9 having a plurality of numeral keys used when an user inputs a PIN number.
The fingerprint recognition type door lock apparatus operates as references state in the accompanying drawings.
First, the user inputs a PIN number which is stored in the system when inputting his or her fingerprint using the key pad 8 and then inputs the fingerprint into the fingerprint recognition window 1. Thus, the inputted fingerprint recognized by the fingerprint recognition window 1 is inputted into the programmable logic device 3 via the optical lens 2.
The programmable logic device 3 operates the fingerprint as a data and transfers the processed data to the CPU 4. The CPU 4 judges whether the inputted fingerprint and PIN number are matched with the stored fingerprint and PIN number of the master user. If matched, the door gets operated. If a door user wants to open the door from the outside, the fingerprint and PIN number of the user should be inputted. If the inputted fingerprint and PIN number are matched with the fingerprint and PIN number stored in the memory of the system, a door driving signal is outputted to the external terminal connection unit 7 for thereby opening the door . The procedures for inputting the fingerprint and PIN number of the master user and the fingerprint and PIN number of the user of the present invention will be explained with the accompanying flow charts as references.
Figure 2 is a flow chart illustrating a door lock driving control method based on a master user. In detail, Figure 2 illustrates a door operation after the fingerprint and PIN number of the master user are inputted.
As shown therein, in Step SI, as an initial stage, the master presses a certain key using the key pad 8 installed inside the door when the master user who has a priority for using the door inputs his or her PIN number and fingerprint. At this moment, a message saying "Please input the PIN number" is outputted. After this message, the master inputs a corresponding PIN number using the outer key pad 9.
In Step S2, after the PIN number input is completed, the master inputs the fingerprint into the fingerprint recognition window 1 after hearing "Please input the fingerprint.
When the fingerprint is inputted, the CPU 4 stores the fingerprint data inputted through the programmable logic device 3 and the PIN number inputted via the key pad 8 into the DRAM in Step S3. After the entire corresponding operations are completed, the PIN number and the fingerprint are inputted in that order in Step S4 when the master wishes to open the door .
The CPU 4 reads the PIN number stored in the DRAM 6 and a fingerprint corresponding to the PIN number and compares the currently inputted fingerprint and PIN number with the read fingerprint and PIN number in Step S5.
If matched, a door driving signal is outputted for thereby opening the door, and the operation ends. If not matched, a message of "The PIN number and the fingerprint are not matched" is outputted, and it stops in Step S6.
Figure 3 is a flow chart illustrating a door lock driving control method based on a door user according to the present invention. As shown therein, in order to register a new user, a master's permission is required. For registering a new user, when inputting a certain key using the inner key pad 8 installed on the inside the door, "Please input the master's PIN number" is outputted for the user to follow. At this moment, in Step Tl, the master should input his or her PIN number.
When the PIN number and fingerprint of the master are inputted, the CPU 4 reads the PIN number and fingerprint of the master stored in the DRAM 6 and compares the inputted PIN number and fingerprint with the read PIN number and fingerprint in Step T2.
As a result of the comparison, if matched, a message of "Please input the PIN number of the user" is outputted. After hearing this message, when the user inputs a corresponding PIN number, a message of "Please input the fingerprint" is outputted. When the user inputs the fingerprint, a message of "The registration is completed" is outputted in Step T3.
After the user's registration is completed, when a user wishes to open the door from the outside, the PIN number and fingerprint of the user are inputted as said in Step T4. When the PIN number and fingerprint of the user are inputted, the CPU 4 judges whether the currently inputted PIN number and fingerprint of the user are matched with the stored PIN number and fingerprint in Step T5.
As a result, if matched, a door driving signal is outputted for thereby opening the door. If not matched, a message of "The PIN number and fingerprint are not matched" is outputted, and the operation stops in Step T6.
When controlling the door locking system according to the present invention, since the function key pad is not installed on the outside of the door, a visitor cannot open the door without a permission. In addition, it is impossible to register a new user without a permission of the master user because a dual security door system is implemented in the present invention. In the present invention, the maximum 800 fingerprints may be stored using the fingerprint recognition window and the DRAM 6. A certain memory is installed in the fingerprint recognition window 1, and the fingerprint of the master or other certain users may be stored in the memory. The remaining fingerprints are stored in the DRAM 6.
In the conventional art, one user can input one fingerprint. Therefore, if the finger which is the registered fingerprint is damaged, the user having the damaged fingerprint cannot open the door. However, in the present invention, at least two fingerprints can be stored. If the number of the fingerprints is increased, the increased fingerprints are stored into the DRAM 6. Thus, the maximum 800 fingerprints can be stored in the present invention.
In addition, when registering users, each user is provided with a PIN number in order to prevent a certain user having a permission by the master from deleting or changing the PIN number and fingerprint of the users.
Thus, in the present invention, the master cannot find out the PIN number of other users, so the PIN numbers and fingerprints of other users cannot be deleted or changed.
Nevertheless, the entire data of the users including the master may be deleted by the master.
As described above, in the present invention, the fingerprint recognition lock is controlled based on a permission of the master user. In addition, the function key operations are performed from the inside of the door. On the outside, the door is opened only when the fingerprint and PIN number are matched with the fingerprint and PIN number stored in the memory of the system. Therefore, in the present invention, it is possible to implement a dual security door lock system. Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those who are skilled in the art will appreciate the fact that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possibly made without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as recited in the accompanying claims.
