Abstract

A subcritical process of generating nuclear energy comprising the steps of introdcuing non-fissile material into a mobile phase material contained in a reaction vessel wherein the mobile phase material comprises non-fissile and fissile material. Neutrons are introduced into the mobile phase material where they are absorbed by the mobile phase material forming fissile material. The mobile phase material is then removed from the reactor vessel.
