Abstract

La présente invention concerne des polynucléotides endo- et exo-glucanase isolés ainsi que des compositions et des procédés destinés à la modulation (augmentation ou réduction, par exemple) des niveaux totaux d'une protéine endo- ou exo-glucanase et/ou à la modification de leurs rapports dans des plantes. La présente invention concerne également des acides nucléiques isolés suffisamment longs et complémentaires d'un polynucléotide endo-ou exo-glucanase pour être utilisés comme sondes ou comme amorceurs d'amplification afin de détecter, de quantifier ou d'isoler des transcrits génétiques. La modulation de protéines endo- ou exo-glucanase peut être destinée à différents types d'utilisations, et en particulier - mais pas uniquement - à l'élongation ou à l'expansion de parois cellulaires, d'où une modification de la croissance d'une plante ou une amélioration de la vitesse de croissance de ses grains, une augmentation de la digestibilité des plantes d'ensilage ou de fourrage, une amélioration de la résistance des plantes aux agents pathogènes et aux stress, et une modification dans la floraison et la maturation des fruits et des grains, dans l'abscission et la sénescence et dans la différentiation tissulaire.
