Abstract

Herein we describe the design and use of a scintillation proximity-based assay for screening compounds for estrogen receptor binding. The estrogen receptor exists in two forms, α and β, and is a target for preventing osteoporosis and other post-menopausal conditions, and for treating breast cancer. The methods described herein can easily be adapted for use with other nuclear receptors where at least one ligand is known.
