Abstract

Ce système et ce procédé servent à faciliter des communications sur un réseau électronique mondial (par exemple l'Internet) et ils comprennent un site Web possédant un annuaire évolutif qui conserve l'état en ligne des utilisateurs enregistrés de l'Internet, de même que les numéros de communication permanents et les adresses IP actuelles de chaque utilisateur enregistré. Un utilisateur, souhaitant établir une communication avec un autre utilisateur enregistré, entre le numéro de communication permanent de cet utilisateur destinataire. Si ce dernier est en ligne, l'utilisateur demandeur reçoit l'adresse IP actuelle de l'utilisateur destinataire, à partir de l'annuaire, une communication instantanée ou en direct s'ensuivant alors. Dans le cas où l'utilisateur destinataire n'est pas en ligne, le système achemine le message de l'utilisateur demandeur sur la boîte vidéo ou vocale du destinataire. Lorsque ce dernier se met éventuellement en ligne, il peut récupérer les messages à partir de sa boîte de courrier. Un aspect du système et du procédé de l'invention consiste à permettre des communications, soit en direct, soit en différé, entre utilisateurs, selon que l'utilisateur destinataire est en ligne ou non.
