Abstract

A dynamic information gateway management system (14) is provided for translating messages between heterogeneous computer applications. The information management system listens for transmitted messages of predetermined types and when a message is found, takes it into the system and performs a translation using stored metadata and configuration information (18). Each transaction is graphically modeled and the model is stored in the configuration information. The substance of the message is maintained such that the form and structure of the message is translated but the meaning of the message remains the same.
