Abstract
This invention has the purpose of providing food and water for animals during a long period of time (approximately one week). The fountain (B) is tightly pressure sealed, with the water retained in the tray. The feeder (A) holds food (ration) that descends by gravitational pressure to the tray, which has protection against insects. The pieces are built to fit one into the other when the unit is disassembled, which facilitates transport and storing for sale.
Description
"Fountain and Feeder for Animals"
The present invention is composed of a receptacle that stores food and water for animals in large quantities for approximately one week. The flow and replacement of food and water is constant, occurring as consumption progresses, with the animal having free access to both.
Currently there exist long duration feeders and fountains that work through electronic or winding mechanisms, with timers or bottles. The complexity of the mechanisms, their high costs, and the lack of fountains for animals of medium size, are inconveniences inherent to such devices. In order to solve these inconveniences the present invention was devised, using a mechanical mechanism that does not use electricity, and so reduces the usage cost. Its use was also made possible for animals of medium size. Additionally it incorporated both food and water making the replacement of both of these easier.
The said feeder and fountain is composed of two vertical columns that fit into two bases that serve as trays. One of the columns has a lid on the top, which is hermetically sealed and retains water in its lower portion without over-filling. The feeder works with the ration being replenished simply by the force of gravity, with a protector against predatory insects.
The invention can be best understood by the following explanation together with the attached figures:
Figure 1 represents the view from the top of the fountain/feeder.
Figure 2 represents a side view.
Figure 3 represents a longitudinal view.
Through these figures it can be seen that the fountain (B) has a lid (Bl) that has the purpose of holding the water (through atmospheric pressure), which keeps it from overflowing iη the recipient B4 through orifice B3. In tray B4 there is a hole B5 in which to fit the lid of orifice B3, when it is not being used. Additionally there is a lid holder (B5). The feeder (A) works with the food (ration) going down cylinder A2 to tray A4 through orifice A3. There is also a little moat to protect from insects (A5).
Claims
Claims "Fountain and Feeder for Animals"
The device is composed of two columns A2 and B2, with a tray for food and water A4 and
B4 on the lower part. The water column B2 is characterized by the fact that is contains a lid Bl that is hermetically sealed and retains the liquid at the level of orifice B3 on tray B4 which contains a door/lid B5.
The device is also characterized by column A2 with lid Al that retains the food, which descends by the force of gravity through orifice A3 and is held in tray A4. Additionally there is a support for water to protect against predatory insects (A5). Finally the device is characterized by the fact that the pieces are built so that they can be fit into each other so as to be transported, stored and sold.
