Description

STEERING WHEEL FOR VEHICLES
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a steering wheel for vehicles, more specifically the steering wheel having a hot wire for heating a steering wheel body.
Background Art
A steering wheel is installed to provide a steering function, which changes the driving direction of vehicles. This steering wheel generally comprises an annular steering wheel body and a supporter that is connected with a steering axis and merged with an inner surface of the annular steering wheel body.
However, since the steering wheel mentioned above has no other function except for the steering function, there has been an inconvenience that a driver drives with a cold steering wheel in the winter.
Also, since the driver could not hold the steering wheel tightly for the above reason, there is a possibility of a traffic accident .
Disclosure of Invention
It is an object of the present invention to provide a steering wheel, which a driver could hold the warm steering wheel body tightly and drive safely in the winter by heating function included in itself .
The above object is accomplished by providing the steering wheel for vehicles having; a substantially annular steering wheel body, and a supporter for being connected with a steering axis and merged with an inner surface of the annular steering, wheel body, characterizedby comprising: hot wires provided within said steering wheel body, and connected with or disconnected from the power source of the vehicle, wherein the steering wheel body is heated by said hot wires. In addition, the above object is also accomplished by providing the steering wheel for vehicles having; a substantially annular steering wheel body, a supporter for being connected with a steering axis and merged with an inner surface of the annular steering wheel body, and a steering wheel cover mounted on the outer surface of the annular steering wheel body, characterized by comprising: hot wires provided within said steering wheel cover, and connected with or disconnected from the power source of the vehicle, wherein the steering wheel cover is heated by said hot wires .
Brief Description of Drawings
The features and advantages of the present invention will be more described specifically in the following description of preferred embodiments of the invention with reference to the accompanying drawings wherein:
FIG. 1 is a front view representing the first embodiment of a steering wheel according to the present invention; FIG. 2 is an enlarged sectional view taken along with A-A line of FIG 1.
FIG. 3 is a front view representing the second embodiment of the steering wheel according to the present invention; and FIG. 4 is an enlarged sectional view taken along with B-B line of FIG 3.
Best Mode for Carrying out the Invention
FIG. 1 illustrates the first embodiment of a steering wheel according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 represents an enlarged sectional view taken along with A-A line of FIG 1.
The configuration of steering wheel 1 of the present embodiment is identical with that of the known steering wheel, which comprises an annular steering wheel body 2 and a supporter 3 for being connected with a steering axis and merged with an inner surface of the annular steering wheel body 2.
In the steering wheel of the present invention, the annular steering wheel body 2 includes an inner core 2b and a circumferential cushion material layer 2a formed thereon. Hot wires 4 are provided within said cushion material layer 2a, and withdrawn from the steering wheel body 2 so as to be connected with or disconnected from the power source of the vehicle. Hot wires 4 are inserted and arranged within the cushion material layer 2a when the cushion material layer 2a is formed on the inner core 2b.
Since, in the steering wheel 1 of the present embodiment, the steering wheel body 2 is heated by hot wires 4 connected with the power source, the driver could hold the warm steering wheel body 2 tightly and drive safely.
Alternatively, FIG. 3 illustrates the second embodiment of the steering wheel according to the present invention, and FIG. 4 represents an enlarged sectional view taken along with B-B line of FIG 3.
The configuration of steering wheel 11 of the present embodiment is identical with that of the known steering wheel, which comprises an annular steering wheel body 12, a supporter 13 for being connected with a steering axis and merged with an inner surface of the annular steering wheel body 12.
However, in the steering wheel of the present embodiment, a steering wheel cover 14 is mounted on the outer surface of the annular steering wheel body 12, and hot wires 15 are provided therein. These hot wires 15 are withdrawn from the steering wheel cover 14 so as to be connected with or disconnected from the power source of the vehicle. Hot wires 15 are inserted and laid within the steering wheel cover 14 when the steering wheel cover 14 is made .
Since, in the steering wheel 11 of the present embodiment, the steering wheel cover 14 is heated by hot wires 15 connected with the power source, the driver could hold the warm steering wheel cover 14 tightly and drive safely.
Although a number of embodiment have described in the above specification, it should be apparent that the present invention could be embodied in many other specific mode included within the sprit and scope of the present invention. Thus, the present embodiments shouldbe considered as illustrative, and the present invention could be modified within the scope of claims and the equivalent thereof.
