- the present invention relates to a shutter and a pusher in which said shutter is mounted.
- a shutter has the function of defining an outlet passage closed at its end by shutter means. At rest, the closure means keep the outlet passage hermetically closed and as soon as sufficient pressure is exerted on the fluid in the outlet passage, the closure means open so as to define an orifice distribution at the end of the outlet passage.
- This is a shutter with a completely classic design. The obturation is achieved by a tight contact between two parts. However, it has been found that this contact is not of sufficient quality to allow the distributors on which the shutter is mounted to be perfectly sealed. This therefore results in leaks in the form of oozing which make the dispenser unattractive. The quality of the contact is therefore essential to create a quality seal.
- the two parts are molded separately and then assembled. Since these two parts are molded separately, it cannot be guaranteed that the contact surfaces are perfectly corresponding and contiguous, which results in the risk of leakage. In addition, even with parts produced with very high precision, they are deformed during assembly, which affects the quality of the sealed contact. For these multiple reasons, the sealing of conventional shutters is not remarkable.
- An effective technique is to mold the two parts in the same mold.
- This molding technique is often referred to as bi-injection.
- Such a technique is implemented on their shutter in documents EP-0 713 832 and EP-0 673 852.
- the shutter comprises a rigid end piece co-molded with an elastic piece.
- the assembly is then placed on a tubular outlet.
- the elastic part is molded on the end piece so as to create a mechanical fixing since the materials constituting the two parts are chemically incompatible.
- it is the tubular outlet which clamps the part elastic in the mouthpiece.
- the elastic piece forms an anchor heel for fixing to a dispensing head.
- the object of the present invention is to solve this fixing problem.
- the present invention provides a shutter intended to be mounted on a fluid dispenser member for closing the dispensing outlet, said shutter comprising two parts, the two parts respectively forming a substantially hard core and a substantially envelope elastic partially surrounding the core, the closure means being defined by an elastically deformable part of the envelope in sealed contact with the core.
- the two parts are produced in the same mold by a successive double injection molding process, the materials constituting the two parts respectively being chemically incompatible so that the two parts do not adhere to each other after molding.
- the bi-injection technique has a particular advantage in our case: in fact, since the two parts are molded successively in the same mold, the surface of one of the two parts serves as the mold surface for the other part, so that the respective surfaces of the two parts in contact with each other are perfectly contiguous. In other words, the surface of one of the parts conforms perfectly to the surface profile of the other part, since it has been molded thereon.
- the two parts are molded in the final state, which avoids a subsequent assembly operation by fitting which risks altering one of the parts.
- the envelope By at least partially enveloping the core, the envelope has an extended contact surface with the core, which guarantees good fixation.
- the invention also defines a pump or valve pusher forming a housing receiving a shutter comprising two parts together defining an outlet passage (18) and shutter means able to close the outlet passage at rest and to open the passage outlet to define a dispensing orifice when a predetermined pressure is applied to the fluid in the outlet passage, characterized in that the two parts respectively form a substantially hard core and a substantially elastic envelope partially surrounding the core, the closure means being defined by an elastically deformable part of the envelope in sealed contact with the core.

This guarantees perfect attachment of the envelope to the core, without the need for additional attachment means as is the case with the heel of document EP-0 673 852 and the tubular outlet of document EP -0 713 832.
- the outer casing 11 may further comprise anchoring means 13 on the core, for example in the form of an additional thickness which extends at least partially over the periphery of the casing.
- This additional thickness or anchor heel 13 further improves the fixing of the casing 11 on the core 15. It is of course possible to imagine other embodiments for the anchoring means 13, which are not compulsory for the invention.
- the shutter 1 is integrated in a pusher 2 intended to be mounted on the actuating rod of a pump or a valve (not shown).
- the pusher 2 defines a fitting housing 26 intended to receive the free upper end of the actuating rod of the pump or of the valve.
- This fitting housing 26 communicates the hollow actuating rod of the pump or of the valve with the outlet passage 18 by means of connecting conduits 24 and 25.
- the pusher 2 defines an upper surface of thrust and a cylindrical peripheral skirt 23.
