Abstract

The method for surveillance and automatic digital recording of perturbations that may occur during electrical systems operation is characterized by the fact that the analogical and/or digital signals that define at each moment the operation of the electrical system under surveillance are taken over simultaneously and with adjustable frequency stored into a circular buffer (3C) in two stages; in the first stage - pre-event - the permanent data are collected and stored in a memory area that will be rewritten at each new scanning cycle, representing a reference set of measures for the post-damage analysis, while the second stage records the perturbation in the operation of the electrical system throughout the occurrence of the unpredictable but effective event, having saved the data before joining the pre-event set of data for a variable time set by the user. The transit from the first stage of recording pre-event permanent data on the surveyed electrical system, to the second stage of recording the perturbations is automatical, because the occurrence of perturbations in the operation of the electrical system under surveillance is perceived. The perturbations cause oscillations from the normal analogical or digital variables stored during the first stage or activate the existing electrical and/or technological protection devices in the system that operate according to the 'OR' logic of event recording when the reference state, the analogical or binary signals suffer modifications, or by release of a software trigger signal by the application software, that can prolong the duration of data recording accordingly, treating them in the same way as normal signals, or manually, by an external device, such as a hardware trigger. All these can also activate the various devices generally included in the protection and signalling circuits of the electrical systems, such as horns, flashing lamps etc.
