Abstract

The invention concerns a collapsible and flexible support provided with advertising boards (4, 4'), characterised in that said flexible support (2) equipped with collapsible means is provided with flexible transparent advertising boards (4, 4') and films (16, 16') with active luminescence assigned to a particular board, the boards and the films being maintained on the support via easily reversible retaining members (12) which can be folded simultaneously with the support folding, the latter further including conductor elements (20) for powering said films from a fixed binding post (22) whereto the conductor elements (20) are connected, the latter being jointly retractable with the support. The invention is applicable to entertainment halls and shop windows in particular.

Description

DISPLAY DEVICE COMPRISING A FOLDABLE FLEXIBLE SUPPORT PROVIDED WITH INTERCHANGEABLE LIGHT ADVERTISING CARDS.

The present invention is in the field of information carriers, and it relates to a display device for illuminated advertising boards.

There are known advertising curtain displays, which are foldable on themselves by winding or folding, and which are commonly used in theaters. These curtains, which hide for example a screen in the absence of cinematographic projection, are made from a textile on which are printed or painted advertising posters. Usually, the advertiser designs the curtain so as to present several advertising panels for a fixed period. At the end of this period, which can be renewed, but in the case where at least one advertising board must be modified or replaced, the curtain must be replaced as a whole by a new curtain.

It therefore appears that a drawback of these curtains lies in the fact that the advertising boards cannot benefit from a display period specific to each of them, except to replace the curtain.

We know from patent US4937962 (HORNBLAD), a display device made from a flat support comprising on one of its large faces transparent pockets for receiving advertising placards, so as to allow easy replacement of these last. The flat support is formed from a flat sheet of plastic or paper, which is held stretched on a frame by means of rods bordering its sides.

Also known from patent US5444930 (LOEW) is a display device formed by a flattened slide comprising at its bottom an electroluminescent film. A transparent advertising cupboard is introduced laterally into the slides of the slide, so that the information it contains is highlighted by a rear lighting of the cupboard. Finally, from patent US Pat. No. 5,657,004 (WHITTAKER), an information display device is made up consisting of a screen divided into several spaces on which respective messages appear, said spaces being able to be lit independently of one another for placing in selective and / or alternating value of messages.

The object of the present invention is to provide a display device for advertising posters, which implements a flexible support comprising advertising posters which are arranged on one of the large faces of the support to be visible from a space, called front, performance hall for example, said support being equipped with means for folding in on itself, by winding or by vertical or lateral folding, with a view to its retraction aiming at clearing the space, called rear, that it at least partially mask. The device of the invention must allow, notwithstanding the retractable nature of the support, a rapid replacement and a selective and / or alternating development of each of the advertising boards independently of each other.

According to the present invention, the inventive step consisted in its entirety in providing the abovementioned support, on its face intended to be visible from said front space, with one or more transparent flexible advertising boards and one or more films with active luminescence assigned to a respective closet. At least the cupboards, if not also the films, are held on the support by means of easily reversible holding members, such as transparent pockets fixed to the support and intended to house the advertising cupboards, or even as easily reversible fixing means. using, for example, cooperating male and female members respectively supported by the support and by the advertising boards, of the type with hooking by gripping strips comprising loops and claws or with interlocking for example, or also such as suspension members of the so-called advertising posters on the support, the said holding members being foldable concomitantly with the folding of the support. The active luminescence films are individually supplied by conductive members, such as flat and flexible cables in the case of electroluminescent films or such as optical fibers in the case of films, or of fabrics, diffusers, which are incorporated into the support with which they are jointly foldable. The conductive members are connected to a fixed supply station by means allowing their retraction concomitantly with that of the support, such as by means of a specific winding drum coaxial with a winding drum of the support, or such only by an emergence of the conductors at the base of the support with a sufficient conductor reserve to allow retraction of the curtain.

It follows from these provisions that the support is retractable by folding up notwithstanding the presence of advertising posters, easily reversible holding means from the latter to the support, holding means allowing their rapid replacement independently of each other, and means with active luminescence equipping the support for a selective enhancement of advertising posters by activating or not corresponding luminescent films. According to a variant aiming to simplify the structure of the device, the advertising information is directly written on the luminescent films, the advertising placards and the luminescent films being thus physically combined. It will be understood that the transparency of each of the advertising cupboards can reside either in a transparency of the cupboard with the exception of the inscriptions composing the advertising message that it supports, or conversely in a transparency of the inscriptions and an opacity of the rest of the cupboard, or even in a transparency of the entire closet with areas having a different coloring, to form the advertising message for example. Programming means for activating the various luminescent films make it possible preferentially to obtain selective and / or alternating lighting thereof, and thus to modulate the lighting of the various closets, with a view to their selective enhancement and / or alternating. It will be noted that preferably, the brightness of each of the luminescent films is variable and progressive, in particular to offer the possibility of linking the alternating lighting of the various advertising boards. Sound means, the implementation of which is advantageously placed under the dependence of the programming means, make it possible to associate a sound message with each of the alternately lit advertising panels.

According to a first embodiment of the flexible support, it is made from a textile, or the like such as a plastic film, in the manner of curtains usually fitted in performance halls. According to this variant, the members for holding the advertising cupboards are preferably said pockets or said gripping strips.

According to a second embodiment of the flexible support, the latter is formed by a flexible reinforcement organized in meshes and composed of rods and interlaced cables, the meshes preferably being of a size of the order of 0.05 to 1 times that of advertising posters. It will be understood that the horizontal or vertical orientation respectively of the rods and of the cables is in adequacy with the mode of folding of the support, the rods being oriented horizontally and the cables being oriented vertically in the case of a retraction of the support by winding or by vertical folding, while conversely the rods being oriented vertically and the cables horizontally in the case of a retraction of the support by lateral folding. Still according to this variant, the luminescent films and the advertising placards are preferably materially combined. Advantageously, the rods and / or the cables making up the flexible support participate, at least in part, in the members for holding the advertising panels and in the said conductive members, being constituted by electric cables or by optical fibers connectable to a fixed station. power supply as described above.

It will be noted in the illustrated embodiments that the support 2 is equipped in the upper part with a drum 8 for its winding and in the lower part with a weight 10 for its unwinding. It will however be understood that although one has shown retractable supports 2 by winding, the provisions of the present invention apply in an equivalent manner to the retractable supports by folding, both by vertical folding and by lateral folding.

Active luminescence films, such as 16.16 'or 18.18', are assigned to each of the 4.4 'or 6.6' closets, and are arranged at the back of the closets, as shown in fig.l, 2 and 5, or are materially confused with the advertising boards in the case where the messages are directly printed on the films, as illustrated in fig.3 and 4 and fig.6 and 7.

The luminescent films 16, 16 'or 18, 18' are supplied by conductive members, such as 20, 30, 32, incorporated in the support 2, which are connected to a fixed supply station 22, the latter being either means for transforming network energy, particularly at low voltage, in the case of electroluminescent films, ie a light source in the case of diffusing films supplied by optical fibers.

In the illustrated variants, in which the support is retractable by winding, the conductors 20, 32 are connected to the support 2 by means of means allowing their winding concomitantly with that of the support 2, the said means being for example constituted by a drum 28 for reverse winding of the conductive members 20, 32, interposed between the support 2 and the said fixed station 22; According to variants not illustrated, the said means authorizing the winding of the conductors 20 concomitantly with that of the support 2, are constituted by a connection of the conductors to the support in the lower region of the latter, with a reserve of conductors such that the folding of the support 2 and of the conductors 20, 32, by winding or by folding, does not have any consequence on the connection between the conductors 20 and the said fixed supply station 22. On the variants illustrated in fig.l to 5, the support is a curtain made from a textile. In fig.l and 2, the advertising boards 4,4 'are held on the support 2 by means of transparent pockets, such as 12, inside which pockets 12 are housed the advertising boards 4,4'. The pockets 12 are for example fixed to the support 2 by gluing, and the luminescent films 16, 16 ′ are for example interposed between the corresponding pocket 12 and the support 2; similarly, the luminescent films 16, 16 ′ could be arranged inside the pockets 12, and be incidentally removable, in the case in particular where they would include the advertising messages. In fig. 3 to 5, the advertising boards 6,6 'are held on the support 2 by means of gripping strips, such as 14, with loops and claws.

In the variant illustrated in FIGS. 6 and 7, the flexible support 2 is formed by a flexible frame, or trellis, the meshes of which are formed by horizontal rods, such as 30, and vertical cables, such as 32, which can be rolled up. around the drum 8. The advertising boards 6,6 'and the luminescent films 18,18' are preferably physically combined. The rods 30 and the cables 32, not only form the support 2, but also on the one hand participate in the members for holding the advertising panels 6,6 ′, by means of the edge of the latter which are fitted with suspension hooks or, as illustrated, sleeves 34 arranged around the rods 30, and on the other hand participate the conductive members 20, cables or optical fibers, supplying the advertising boards 6,6 'to activate the luminescence of the latter .

Programming means 24, preferably associated with sound means 26, make it possible to selectively and / or alternate activate the 16,16 'or 18,18' films with active luminescence, and therefore to enhance the advertising posters 4.4 'or 6.6' corresponding. Preferably and where appropriate, the luminescent films 16, 16 ', 18, 18' are fixed to the support by means of an electrically conductive adhesive. In addition, in the case where the luminescent films 6,6 'are removable, due in particular to the fact that the messages are directly written on them, the said films 6,6' are optionally connectable by means of respective quick connectors fitted to the support 2.

Finally, it should be noted that the preferred application of the device of the invention to performance halls is not limiting as regards the various possible uses of it; for example, the support of the device of the invention may be equipped with a single advertising board, formed in particular in this case of an active luminescence film on which a message is written, and be placed in a shop window or at near an article display. In general, it will be understood that the device of the invention responds in particular to the need to temporarily hide a said rear space with a retractable support comprising at least one advertising message visible from said front space.

Claims

1.- Device for displaying advertising posters

(4, 4 '; 6, 6'), said device comprising a flexible support (2) comprising one of its large faces of the advertising boards (4.4 '; 6.6'), and being equipped with means (8,10) retraction by folding, characterized: in that said flexible support (2) is provided with at least one transparent advertising placard (4,4 '; 6,6') and at least an active luminescence film (16, 16 '; 18, 18') assigned to a respective closet (4.4 '; 6.6'), at least the closets (4.4 '; 6.6'), otherwise also the films (16, 16 ', - 18, 18'), being held on the support (2) by 1 'easily reversible holding members (12,14,30,34) which are foldable concomitantly with the folding of the support (2), the latter (2) further incorporating conductive members (20,32) for the individual supply of said films (16,16 '; 18,18') from a fixed station (22) to which the conductive members (20,32) are connected, the latter being retractable jointly with the support (2).

3.- Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized: in that the members for supporting the support (2) of the advertising panels (6,6 ') comprise cooperating male and female members (14) respectively supported by the support (2) and by the advertising boards (6,6 ').

4.- Device according to claim 3, characterized: in that the members for supporting the support (2) of the advertising boards (4,4 '; 6, 6') are members (14) hooked by gripping strips comprising curls and claws.
