Abstract

Disclosed is a console mat for a trunk compartment of an automobile, the trunk compartment being defined behind a rear seat cushion. The console mat comprises a front sheet (100) formed with a door sheet part (104) of a predetermined configuration, which is turned over forward or rearward when a fastener (105) thereof is opened, and provided at its front surface with at least one pocket (106) which can receive an article, the front sheet (100) being attached to left and right side inner surfaces of the trunk compartment and a tray panel disposed upward, whereby the front sheet (100) is erected behind the rear seat cushion to define a receiving space; a rear sheet (130) possessing a long side which is integrally formed with or detachably connected to a lower end of a rear surface of the front sheet (100) and bent rearward at a right angle and the opposite side which is attached to a lower portion of the rear seat cushion; and a floor sheet (120) possessing a linear side end which is integrally formed with or detachably connected to a lower end of the front surface of the front sheet (100), the floor sheet (120) covering a bottom surface of the trunk compartment in front of the front sheet.

Description

CONSOLE MAT FOR TRUNK COMPARTMENT OF AUTOMOBILE
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a console mat for a trunk compartment of an automobile, and more particularly, the present invention relates to a console mat for a trunk compartment of an automobile, which enables articles received in the trunk compartment to be stored in a neater and tidier order and the inside of the trunk compartment to look more presentable .
Description of the Related Art
Conventionally, a trunk compartment of an automobile, as being a space which is defined behind a rear seat cushion provided in a cabin of the automobile, generally receives various tools and articles which are necessary for maintenance and/or repair of the automobile and a spare tire. The trunk compartment can also receive baggage of a small volume as occasion demands.
In the conventional art, articles received in the trunk compartment are put in order by providing several boxes which can receive articles according to size, or by providing a console box of a rectangular configuration, which can receive a great amount of articles at one time. In the former case, boxes move about within the trunk compartment while the automobile is running, generating vibration and noise, whereby inconvenience is caused in that it is necessary to frequently put the boxes back in order. In the latter case, if the console box is not securely maintained in the trunk compartment, the console box can tilt to one side upon a quick start or quick braking, whereby a structure in the trunk compartment and other articles received in the trunk compartment can be damaged. Further, in the case wherein the console box tilts abruptly toward a rear seat cushion, a passenger riding in the rear seat cushion of the automobile may be injured.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly, the present invention has been made in an effort to solve the problems occurring in the related art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a console mat for a trunk compartment of an automobile, which enables articles received in the trunk compartment to be in a neater and tidier order and the inside of the trunk compartment to look more presentable .
In order to achieve the above object, according to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a console mat for a trunk compartment of an automobile, the trunk compartment being defined behind a rear seat cushion, the console mat comprising: a front sheet having a plate-shaped contour, formed with a door sheet part of a predetermined configuration which is turned over forward or rearward when a fastener thereof is opened, and provided at its front surface with at least one pocket of a preselected configuration which can receive articles, the front sheet possessing both left and right ends and an upper end which are attached to left and right side inner surfaces of the trunk compartment and a tray panel disposed upward, respectively, whereby the front sheet is erected behind the rear seat cushion to define a receiving space between it and the rear seat cushion; a rear sheet having a plate-shaped contour and provided on its lower surface with a plurality of Velcro strips, the rear sheet possessing a long side which is integrally formed with or detachably connected to a lower end of a rear surface of the front sheet and bent rearward at a right angle and the opposite side which is attached to a lower portion of the rear seat cushion; and a floor sheet having a plate-shaped contour and provided on its lower surface with a plurality of Velcro strips, the floor sheet possessing one linear side which is integrally formed with or detachably connected to a lower end of the front surface of the front sheet, and covering a bottom surface of the trunk compartment in front of the front sheet.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
Reference will now be made in greater detail to a preferred embodiment of the invention, an example of which is illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Wherever possible, the same reference numerals will be used throughout the drawings and the description to refer to the same or like parts.
Referring to FIGs. 1 and 2, there is illustrated a console mat for a trunk compartment of an automobile in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. The console mat for a trunk compartment for an automobile comprises a front sheet 100, a floor sheet 120 and a rear sheet 130. As shown in FIG. 3, the front sheet 100 is vertically disposed in a space which is defined between a rear seat cushion 153 and a trunk compartment 150. The floor sheet 120 is disposed on a bottom surface of the trunk compartment 150, and the rear sheet 130 is disposed at a bottom of a space defined between the rear seat cushion 153 and the front sheet 100, respectively.
The front sheet 100 of a plate-shaped contour, which is made of natural or synthetic leather, has a door sheet part 104 of a predetermined configuration, at least one pocket 106 and a side coupling part 101. A door sheet part fastener 105 is provided along an upper end and left and right ends of the door sheet part 104. The door sheet part 104 is turned over forward or rearward when the door sheet part fastener 105 is opened. The door sheet part 104 may be formed such that it selectively has a rectangular, circular or heart-shaped configuration, as shown in FIGs. 1, 5a and 5b. Also, the door sheet part 104 can have on its center portion a sub door sheet part 111 as shown in Fig. 5c. The sub door sheet part 111 is turned over forward or rearward when a sub door sheet part fastener 112 is opened. The sub door sheet part 111 is used such that it enables long articles such as skis to be easily received into the trunk compartment 150 and forward of the front sheet 100.
The plurality of pockets 106 are arranged side by side one another in a state wherein their upper ends are opened. Said pockets 106 are formed such that they selectively have triangular, rectangular, semicircular or circular configurations as shown in FIGs. 4a and 4b, and may be shaped to have covers 108 at their upper ends or may be made of mesh. An upper end of the front sheet 100 is formed with a plurality of pin holes 107, and , as shown in FIG. 6, a hanger band 109 for allowing gloves, a wetted towel, etc. to be hung over is disposed in front of the plurality of pin holes 107 on the front sheet 100. A plurality of holders 110 for allowing tools, etc. to be fitted therein are disposed in front of the side coupling part 101 on the front sheet 100, as shown in FIG. 7.
The side coupling part 101 is integrally formed with left and right sides of the front sheet 100, two band plate-shaped reinforcing plates 102 are embedded into the respective side coupling parts 101 as shown in FIG. 8. A Velcro strip 140 is stitched to a rear surface of the respective side coupling part 101. A reinforcing Velcro strip 103 is stitched to a middle portion of the Velcro strip 140, as shown in FIG. 9, such that it is orthogonal to the Velcro strip 140.
The floor sheet 120 of a plate-shaped contour, which is made of natural or synthetic leather, has a linear side which is integrally formed with a lower end of the front surface of the front sheet 100 or is detachably connected to the lower end of the front surface of the front sheet 100 by a sheet coupling part 121 comprising a Velcro strip to be attached or detached as shown in FIG. 10. The floor sheet 120 covers an entire bottom surface of the trunk compartment 150, and a marginal portion of the floor sheet 120 extends upward beyond a cross portion defined in a trunk inner panel 151, as shown in FIG. 11.
The rear sheet 130 of a plate-shaped contour, which is made of natural or synthetic leather, has a long side which y formed with or detachably connected to a lower end of a rear surface of the front sheet 100 and the opposite side which is attached to a lower portion of the rear seat cushion 153 by a rear coupling part 131 comprising a Velcro strip.
A hook 155 for allowing an article to be hung over is provided behind the front sheet 100 which is erected between the rear seat cushion 153 and the trunk compartment 150, that is, on a rear surface of the rear seat cushion 153, as shown in FIG. 12.
In the console mat according to the present invention, constructed as mentioned above, the front sheet 100 is erected between the rear seat cushion 153 and the trunk compartment 150, the floor sheet 120 is disposed on the bottom surface of the trunk compartment 150, and the rear sheet 130 is disposed at the bottom of the space defined between the rear seat cushion 153 and the front sheet 100, as shown in FIGs. 2 and 3.
In the front sheet 100, the Velcro strip 140 which is stitched to the rear surface of the side coupling part 101, is attached and coupled to a sound insulation sheet 152 which is provided on an outer surface of the trunk inner panel 151, the reinforcing Velcro strip 103 is attached to the Velcro strip 140, and the upper end of the front sheet 100 is coupled to the tray panel 154 by a plurality of screws which are threaded into the plurality of pin holes 107, respectively. Moreover, a plurality of Velcro strips 140 which are provided on lower surfaces of the respective floor sheet 120 and rear sheet 130, are attached and coupled to the sound insulation sheet 152. Further, the rear coupling part 131 of the rear sheet 130 is attached and coupled to the sound insulation sheet 152 which is positioned in the lower portion of the rear surface of the rear seat cushion 153.
In other words, while the front sheet 100 is securely coupled at the side coupling part 101 and the upper end thereof to the sound insulation sheet 152 and the tray panel 154, respectively, to be vertically erected between the rear seat cushion 153 and the trunk compartment 150, the front sheet 100 is prevented from sagging by the reinforcing plates 102 which are embedded into the side coupling part 101. Also, the front sheet 100 is prevented from tilting forward, by the rear coupling part 131 of the rear sheet 130 and the reinforcing Velcro strip 103. Further, due to the fact that the floor sheet 120 and the rear sheet 130 are securely attached to the sound insulation sheet 152, the front sheet 100 is prevented from moving about. Besides, when long articles such as skis are received into the trunk compartment 150, it is sufficient only to turn over the sub door sheet part 111 to load the articles, and the door sheet part 104, except for the sub door sheet part 111, partitions the space defined rearward of the front sheet 100.
Accordingly, since the space is defined rearward of the rear seat cushion 153 by the front sheet 100, articles received in the space are prevented from being exposed to the outside and prevented from moving about. Also, because articles can be stored in a state wherein they are received in the plurality of pockets 106 and the holders 110 which are provided to the door sheet part 104 and the front sheet 100, respectively and gloves and a wetted towel are hung on the hanger band 109, articles received in the trunk compartment are kept in a neater and tidier order.
As described above, by the present invention, advantages are provided in that since a vertically standing front sheet is disposed between a rear seat cushion and a trunk compartment, a floor sheet is disposed on a bottom surface of the trunk compartment and a rear sheet is disposed at a bottom of a space defined between the rear seat cushion and the front sheet, articles received in the trunk compartment are kept in a neater and tidier order. In addition, the inside of the trunk compartment looks more presentable due to the front sheet and the floor sheet.
In the drawings and specification, there have been disclosed typical preferred embodiments of the invention and, although specific terms are employed, they are used in a generic and descriptive sense only and not for purposes of limitation, the scope of the invention being set forth in the following claims.

Claims

WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:
1. A console mat for a trunk compartment of an automobile, the trunk compartment being defined behind a rear seat cushion, the console mat comprising: a front sheet having a plate-shaped contour, formed with a door sheet part of a predetermined configuration which is turned over forward or rearward when a fastener thereof is opened and provided at its front surface with at least one pocket of a preselected configuration which can receive an article, the front sheet possessing both left and right ends and an upper end which are attached to left and right side inner surfaces of the trunk compartment and a tray panel disposed upward, respectively, whereby the front sheet is erected behind the rear seat cushion to define a receiving space between it and the rear seat cushion; a rear sheet having a plate-shaped contour and provided on its lower surface with a plurality of Velcro strips, the rear sheet possessing a linear side which is integrally formed with or detachably connected to a lower end of a rear surface of the front sheet and bent rearward at a right angle and the opposite side which is attached to a lower portion of the rear seat cushion; and a floor sheet having a plate-shaped contour and provided on its lower surface with a plurality of Velcro strips, the floor sheet possessing a long side which is integrally formed with or detachably connected to a lower end of the front surface of the front sheet, the floor sheet covering a bottom surface of the trunk compartment in front of the front sheet.
2. A console mat for a trunk compartment of an automobile as claimed in claim 1, wherein the door sheet part is formed such that it selectively has a rectangular, circular or heart-shaped configuration.
3. A console mat for a trunk compartment of an automobile as claimed in claims 1 or 2, wherein the door sheet part has on its center portion a sub door sheet part.
4. A console mat for a trunk compartment of an automobile as claimed in claim 1, wherein the front sheet is provided with a plurality of pockets which are arranged side by side one another, are formed such that they selectively have triangular, rectangular, semicircular or circular configurations, and are shaped to have covers at their upper ends or are made of mesh.
5. A console mat for a trunk compartment of an automobile as claimed in claim 1, wherein a hanger band is disposed on the front surface and in an upper portion of the front sheet, and holders are disposed on the front surface and leftward and rightward of the front sheet.
6. A console mat for a trunk compartment of an automobile as claimed in claim 1, wherein at least one band plate-shaped reinforcing plate is embedded into a side coupling part of the front sheet, and a reinforcing Velcro strip is connected to a Velcro strip disposed on the rear surface of the front sheet such that the reinforcing Velcro strip is orthogonal to the Velcro strip.
7. A console mat for a trunk compartment of an automobile as claimed in claim 1, wherein the upper end of the front sheet is formed with a plurality of pin holes which are arranged side by side one another, the front sheet being coupled to the tray panel at said pin holes by screws.
