Abstract

The invention relates to a method for transmitting data in a communication system with a given number of communication links that can be activated to and/or from available communication connections via which signals can be simultaneously transmitted in a common frequency band, especially for the transmission of data in a UTMS communication system in a TDD operating mode. According to the inventive method, the signals have a data component and a training component (m), especially a midamble, between which known symbols specified in advance by the receiver and transmitter can be transmitted as part of the training component. The aim of the invention is to optimize utilization of available transmission capacity. This is achieved by adjusting the length of the training component (m) according to the number of communication links that can be activated.
