Abstract

The invention relates to the use of nonoxynol-9 as lubricant (3). Nonoxynol-9 is contained in an aqueous mixture for wetting and/or coating the mucosae of a genital organ (1) or for producing a coating on or in said organ (1). The invention further relates to a method for producing a lubricant (3) according to which a mixture is prepared from nonoxynol-9, lactic acid, water as well as possibly at least one other substance, preferably an odoriferous agent. For temporary wetting and/or coating said aqueous mixture is applied preferably finely nebulized or as a spray (4) onto the corresponding parts, especially the mucosae of the genital organs (1).

Description

Use of nonoxynol-9 as a lubricant and process for its preparation

The invention relates to the use of nonoxynol-9 as a lubricant, as defined in claim 1. However, the invention also relates to a method for producing a lubricant as defined in the preamble of claim 2 and to a lubricant as described in the preamble of claim 6.

The use of nonoxynol-9, also referred to as polyethylene glycol-9 nonylphenyl ether, for wetting and / or coating mucous membranes of a genital part or for producing a coating on this genital part or for wetting and / or coating and / or filling one Sponge-like supporting bodies that can be used vaginally as a contraceptive and a viral static agent for the vaginal mucous membranes are known.

It is also known from US 4,692,143 A to use nonoxynol-9 as a contraceptive or as a spermicide.

Furthermore, it is known from US Pat. No. 5,244,885 A to use a liquid mixture of chamomile extract, nonoxynol-9 and lactic acid to prevent the spread of bacteria. Under certain conditions, this liquid mixture can also be sprayed as a spray.

In addition, it is known from DE 37 14 486 AI to produce a disinfectant containing nonoxynol-9 for impregnating hygiene wipes or for use in sprays. This disinfectant is also said to be effective against HIV viruses.

Finally, it is known from WO 97/451 16 A to use derivatives based on thiocarboxanilides for preventing infections, in particular for disinfecting HIV viruses.

The present invention has for its object to provide a lubricant that is particularly well tolerated for the mucous membranes of the genitals and that unfolds its effectiveness quickly and easily. This object of the invention is achieved by the features of claim 1.

The surprising advantage resulting from the features of the characterizing part of claim 1 can be seen in the fact that nonoxynol-9, in addition to its already known effects, is an excellent lubricant in an aqueous mixture, the foam development not occurring too strongly during use, so that there is a good feeling of tolerance during use.

The object of the invention is also achieved independently of this by a method for producing a lubricant according to the features specified in claim 2.

Sprays can be achieved, which can be used as a highly effective lubricant. Of course, the nonoxynol-9 retains its effect as a spermicide or contraceptive and a virus tonic.

In this case, an embodiment according to claim 3 proves to be advantageous, since the low proportion of nonoxynol-9 admixes the lubricant to an extremely low-foam effect.

According to a further embodiment according to claim 4, it is advantageous that by adding the lactic acid, also known as lactic acid, a pH value which is favorable for the mucous membranes is created, which supports the build-up of the coating or the wetting and ensures a temporary dissolution , which could occur due to too strong or too low pH differences. The natural bacterial colonization is also supported or improved by the addition of lactic acid.

Through the design according to claim 5, the aqueous mixture can be made sprayable. This makes it possible to simply carry out the application to the mucous membranes, with the idea of hygiene definitely being in the foreground. The term water in this context naturally includes distilled water or technically purified water. Furthermore, the object of the invention is also achieved independently thereof by the lubricant itself according to the features specified in claim 6.

The surprising advantages resulting from the combination of features of the characterizing part of this claim lie in the fact that not only the requirements of hygiene are observed, but also that a shelf life is achieved which extends beyond the storage time of pastes or the like.

The mixture is preferably 10% by weight to 50% by weight, in particular 20% by weight to 40% by weight of nonoxynol-9, 1% by weight to 20% by weight, in particular 5% by weight to 10 % By weight of lactic acid and 30% by weight to 90% by weight, in particular 45% by weight to 75% by weight, of water.

This aqueous mixture is preferably sprayed very finely for a temporary wetting and / or coating or is applied as a spray 4 to the corresponding places, preferably to the genitals 1, in particular to the mucous membranes of the male member 2. The sprayable spray 4 is preferably filled in a container which is designed as a pump spray 5.

However, as can also be seen from FIG. 2, the lubricant 3 can also be sprayed onto the female genitals 1, namely onto the vaginal mucous membranes 6, 7. If necessary, a special attachment to the container for the aqueous mixture is used for wetting and / or coating the vaginal mucous membranes 6, in particular for the vaginal mucous membranes 7 in the posterior vaginal arch 8.

Of course, the known effects of Nonoxynol-9 as a contraceptive and antiviral agent or as a spermicide are retained. The addition of lactic acid also supports or improves natural bacterial colonization. In addition, the lactic acid creates a favorable environment for the mucous membranes, in particular for the vaginal mucous membranes 6, 7, which supports the application of the wetting and / or coating and a too rapid dissolution due to the excessive pH value -Differences prevented.

Due to the fine division as spray 4 of the aqueous mixture, a uniform, continuous sliding layer with the lubricant 3 is achieved, which also enables continuous shielding against external influences, in particular infections with microorganisms.
