Abstract

An anti-freezing seal (50) for vehicle compartments, doors, trunks, etc. comprising a compression section (54), means for attaching the bulb (53) to a compartment flange (51), a reflective shield (56), heat strip (57), and electrical clips adapted to be connected to a DC or AC power supply (59). The seal may be of a heated (50) or vacuum type (90). The vacuum actuated anti-freezing seal (90) comprises a vacuum source (97) such that upon activation collapses the compression section (91) to break the frost between the seal (90) and the compartment lid (98). The invention is also for callpsible support structures (265) and a strut assembly (250) for retaining a section of a vehicle in open position, and may be of an insulated type, heated type, or both.
