Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung von Nukleinsäuren, die ein (Poly)peptid mit einer intrinsischen Affinität zu Plasmodesmen kodieren, zur Erzeugung von Pflanzen oder Teilen davon mit erhöhter Toleranz gegen Trockenheit und/oder Pilzinfektionen und/oder erhöhten Salzkonzentrationen und/oder extreme Temperatur (Hitze, Kälte) sowie entsprechende Verfahren. Vorteilhafterweise transfiziert man dabei eine Pflanze, ein Pflanzengewebe oder eine Pflanzenzelle mit der Nukleinsäure. Vorzugsweise kodiert die Nukleinsäure ein Virus-kodiertes Transportprotein, das in einer besonders bevorzugten Ausführungsform ein Derivat des pr17-Proteins mit einer hydrophilen N-terminalen Verlängerung ist.
