Abstract

The invention relates to a mobile phone and its auxiliary device which can be locked to each other with a locking means (3) and a counterpart means (4) to be locked thereto, wherein the locking means (3) is in the frame of the mobile phone (1) or in its battery and the counterpart means (4) is in the auxiliary device (2).

Description

Mobile phone and its auxiliary device
The present invention relates to a mobile phone and its auxiliary device, such as a charging or storage support, belt holder, wrist holder, neck holder, or the like. This invention is particularly related to such a mobile phone and its auxiliary device which can be locked to each other with a locking means and a counterpart means to be locked thereto.
There are prior known auxiliary devices for mobile phones which are equipped with a locking means, a counterpart means in the mobile phone being locked therewith. Thus, the phone is provided with recesses or a protruding part, wherein the auxiliary devices are each provided with a locking means which engages with said recesses or in which the protruding part in the mobile phone fits to lock it with the auxiliary device.
There is an intense price competition in the field of mobile phones and their auxiliary devices, and there is a trend to reduce the costs where it is possible.
Consequently, it is an object of the present invention to provide a less expensive locking system for a mobile phone and its auxiliary devices, the locking system being, however, functionally as in present systems.
The present invention is based on the idea that because the locking means is more expensive than its counterpart means, costs can be substantially reduced by providing the locking means in the mobile phone or in a part to be fixed therewith, and the less expensive component of the locking system, i.e. the counterpart means, in the auxiliary device. Even though there are several auxiliary means, only one locking means will be needed which is integrated in the mobile phone or in a part to be fixed therewith.
Thus, the locking means can be integrated in the frame of the mobile phone or in a part to be fixed therewith, such as e.g. the battery for the mobile phone. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the locking means is a stop means which is movable against the effect of a spring means in a slot, wherein the counterpart means is a protruding part to be inserted through an opening which is transverse to the slot, the protruding part being provided with a recess or a lug which the stop means engages when released, thereby preventing the detaching of the mobile phone and its auxiliary device from each other. The mobile phone is detached from the auxiliary device by pressing the stop means against the effect of the spring means in the slot, wherein the stop means releases the protruding part in the auxiliary means so that it can be pulled out from the opening which is transverse to the slot.
The invention will be described in more detail hereinbelow with reference to the appended drawings, in which
Fig. 1 is a perspective view on a mobile phone and its auxiliary device equipped with the locking system according to the invention, separate from each other and seen from behind,
Fig. 2 is a similar perspective view from the front, the locking means disassembled, and
Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional vertical view on the upper part of the mobile phone with an auxiliary device attached thereto.
In the figures, the mobile phone is generally indicated with the reference number 1 , the holder or support being its auxiliary device generally with the reference number 2, and the locking device on the upper part of the mobile phone 1 generally with the reference number 3.
As can be seen in Fig. 1 , on the back side of the mobile phone 1 there is an opening 8 underneath the locking means 3, and in the corresponding location in the support 2 there is a counterpart means or a pin 4 which fits the opening 8 in the mobile phone 1 and is inserted in the same when the mobile phone 1 is placed in the support 2, as can be seen more clearly in Fig. 3. The opening 8 is connected with a slot 5 located in the same plane with the rear wall of the mobile phone 1 and opening in the upper surface of the mobile phone 1 , provided with a plate-like stop means 7 with an opening 9, through which the pin 4 of the support 2 extends when the mobile phone is placed in the support, wherein the guide surface of the pin 4 of the support 2 pushes the stop means 7 downwards. After this, a recess 10 in the pin 4 releases the stop means into the locking position, i.e. upwards again. When the stop means 7 is released, it thus moves by the effect of a spring means 6 upwards in the slot 5, wherein the lower edge of the opening 9 is inserted into the recess 10 in the pin of the support 2, preventing the removal of the pin 4 from the opening 9 of the stop means 7 as well as from the opening 8 of the rear wall of the mobile phone 1, wherein the mobile phone 1 is locked in its support 2. By pressing the stop means 7 against the effect of the spring means 6, the pin 4 can be released from the opening 9 of the stop means 7 and thereby the mobile phone 1 can be released from its support 2.
It is obvious for anyone skilled in the art that the structure of the locking device, as well as the counterpart means in the auxiliary device, can vary within a very large range. For the present invention, the only substantial aspect is that the more expensive component, i.e. the locking means, is in the mobile phone and the less expensive component, i.e. the counterpart means fitting in the locking means, is in the auxiliary device for the mobile phone. Furthermore, it is obvious that the locking means and the counterpart means have such a structure that they can be locked with each other.
