Abstract

A method and a system for evaluating a direction between a first station and a mobile station in a cellular radio net, for instance the GSM system, are based on the first station having an antenna arrangement which includes at least two antennas that have different directional characteristics and directions and each transmit an identifiable signal. A characteristic is established with respect to the difference between the signals from the two antennas in different directions form the first station. The two signals are sensed in the mobile station and the difference between the signals evaluated. The aforesaid direction is evaluated by the characteristic on the basis of the signal difference in the mobile station.
