Description

1
FAST-MOUNTING FRAME IN PARTICULAR FOR PICTURES
TECHNICAL FIELD AND BACKGROUND ART.
The present invention relates to a fast-mounting frame in particular for pictures. The present invention falls in particular within the sector relating to the framing of prints, photographs, paintings and the like, which can be mounted both on walls and on top of furniture; the invention may also be used in different sectors such as, for example, a frame for doors, watch dial-faces or as an internal and external fixing element for architectural components. Frames for pictures and the like are known, in which fixing of the assembly consisting of glass, decorative frame, picture and back-piece is performed via the rear part of the frame itself, namely the part which normally makes contact with the wall. The frame is formed so as to receive inside it the glass (if present), the picture and the back-piece, and fixing is normally performed by means of nails or metal elements which are flexible or hinged with the frame itself.
In order to be able to perform fixing, the frame must be positioned overturned on a horizontal surface, so as to allow access to the rear of the frame itself. Frames in which fixing is performed laterally are also known. The rear of the frame consists of the back-piece on which the picture is placed, followed by the glass. The three layers are then fixed together by means of clips which are generally made of metal and are arranged at least one on each side. Generally one of the clips acts as a support for the entire frame in the case where the frame must be hung on a wall. In this solution also, the frame is disassembled and re-assembled in the horizontal position by means of an operation which is relatively complex and not always easy to perform. 2
DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION.
The object of the present invention is that of eliminating the abovementioned drawbacks and providing a fast-mounting frame in particular for pictures, which results in easier and fast assembly and which can also be performed without removing entirely the frame itself from the wall.
Said objects are fully achieved by the fast-mounting frame in particular for pictures, according to the present invention, which is characterized by the contents of the claims indicated below. In particular, the abovementioned fast-mounting frame, comprising a back-piece, a transparent surface and/or a frame counter-piece, and fixing means designed to keep the abovementioned components joined together, is characterized by the fact that the fixing means are structured so as to secure or release the transparent surface and/or the frame counter-piece with respect to the back-piece directly via the front part of the frame itself. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS. These and other characteristic features will emerge more clearly from the following description of some preferred embodiments illustrated, purely by way of a non-limiting example, in the accompanying plates of drawings, in which:
- Figures 1, 3, 5 and 7 show a perspective view of some possible constructional variants of a fast-mounting frame; - Figures 2, 2 A, 4, 6 and 8 show a side view, during assembly, of the respective variants;
- Figures 9 and 10 show respectively a perspective view and a rear view of a frame. BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION.
With reference to the Figures, 1 denotes a fast-mounting frame which is intended in particular for pictures, but which can be easily adapted also to other sectors, for example such as a frame for a door, a dial-face of a watch and or a fastening device for an 3
architectural component.
In the sector relating to the framing of paintings, photographs and the like, simply referred to below as picture and indicated by 9, the frame 1 comprises a back-piece 2 which substantially consists of a surface in which a recess 8 may be formed. Also, the back-piece 2 may comprise one or more weight-reducing openings.
Moreover the frame 1 may comprise a transparent surface 3 or a frame counter-piece 4, or both these elements, which are kept fixed to the back-piece 2 by fixing means 5. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the frame counter-piece 4 may have the same dimensions as the back-piece 2 and be positioned directly against it, or, as shown in Figures 3 and 4. it may have dimensions which are smaller than those of the back-piece 2 and, if necessary, be positioned in the recess 8 of the back-piece itself. The fixing means 5 are structured in an original manner so as to secure or release the transparent surface 3 and/or the frame counter-piece 4 with respect to the back-piece 2 directly via the front part of the frame itself. In particular, the fixing means 5 may comprise the said back-piece 2 made of magnetic material and a plurality of permanent magnets 6 which are designed to be positioned against the transparent surface 3 so as to secure the latter against the back-piece 2 or between the frame counter-piece 4 and the back-piece 2. The shapes in which the permanent magnets 6 may be made may be different; for example the frame 1 may comprise a single permanent magnet 6a formed as a frame designed to secure the transparent surface 3 and/or the frame counter-piece 4 to the back- piece 2. In particular, Figure 4 shows a frame in which the permanent magnet 6a is applied to the frame counter-piece 4, while Figure 2A shows a frame in which the permanent magnet 6a is applied to the transparent surface 3. The frame counter-piece 4 itself may be made of a material having the characteristics of a permanent magnet. 4
Alternatively, as illustrated in Figures 5 to 8, the frame 1 may comprise four permanent magnets 6b which are designed to be fixed against the transparent surface 3 or between the frame counter-piece 4 and the back-piece 2. If visibly positioned, these permanent magnets may form a decorative element of the frame itself and may, for example, be positioned on the corners of the transparent surface 3 or be partially seated in the back- piece 2.
According to some constructional variants not shown, the frame 1 comprises fixing means 5 formed by means of a plurality of velcro elements or a plurality of male/female elements intended to be positioned respectively on the back-piece 2 and on the transparent surface 3 or on the frame counter-piece 4.
According to a further constructional variant shown in Figures 9 and 10, the frame 1 also comprises means 7 which are designed to support the frame itself in a substantially vertical position hung on a wall or resting on a horizontal surface. In the case where the back-piece 2 is made of magnetic material, said means 7 may comprise a support 10 formed by means of a magnet designed to adhere to the back-piece 2. The abovementioned support 10 may be made so as to comprise at least one fastening hole 11, so as to be able to hang the frame on a wall, and a pre-scored folding line 12 so as to form a support flap allowing the frame to be supported on a horizontal surface. The permanent magnets 6 and the means 7 may be made of a magnetic rubber of the type which can be easily formed in the desired shapes.
In the case where the back-piece 2 is made of a non-magnetic material, the means 7 may be fixed by means of velcro to the rear surface of the back-piece itself. In a constructional variant not shown, the fixing means 5 may comprise the magnets 6 inserted in the back-piece 2 against which fixing counter-magnets are positioned. With the solution described above it is possible to form a frame 1. in particular for 5
pictures, by simply placing a picture 9 on the back-piece 2 and positioning on top of it the transparent surface 3 and/or the frame counter-piece 4.
The possible uses of the present invention are many: the frame 1 may be hung on a wall or may be rested on a horizontal support surface or may be applied to any metal surface such as, for example, that of a fridge.
The fixing means 5 may be positioned over the whole area of the frame surface and act directly on the front part of the frame itself; therefore, the operation may be easily performed also directly in the vertical position, leaving the back-piece 2 hanging on the wall. Moreover, the frame described above may be easily applied to doors, watches or architectural components, in all those cases where it is required to obtain a structure which is stable, but can be easily disassembled for maintenance purposes or simply for aesthetic reasons.
