Abstract

The invention relates to an in vitro selection method for selecting ribozymes which are capable of covalently modifying the ribonucleic acids on 2'-OH-groups in trans and to the ribozymes obtained using this method. The invention also relates to medicaments containing said ribozymes, said medicaments being preferably used for inhibiting gene expression - for example in gene therapy. The inventive ribozymes can also be used for producing muteins and nuclease-resistant ribonucleic acids, for example ribonuclease-resistant 'antisense' oligonucleotides.
