Description

" SELF-SUSTAINING MODULARIZED DEVICE FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF COVERING STRUCTURES FOR LARGE SPANS ".
This patent describes a new self-sustaining modularized device especially developed for the construction of covering structures for large vains, as sports stadiuns, hangars, and large commercial and industrial coaches, replacing traditional structures made by metal components or concrete, the new structures being more reliable and cheaper than traditional techniques, speeding up the work needed to assembly the structure.
The new device provides a faster way to obtain great covering structures, by combining components made by the injection of a thermoplastic material inside a appropriate mould, resulting in a very light and strong coverage.
The main object of this invention is to provide a self-sustaining modularized device, made in a only piece on thermoplastic material, allowing the replacement of conventional elements of a covering structure for large vains.
The new device may replace these traditional apparatus, because it is lighter and the structures using it will have a lower cost of assemblage and maintenance. Other object of this invention is to provide a device easily connected to identical pieces, in order to provide a easily assembled structure, stronger and lighter than conventional ones.
A third object of the same invention is to provide a structure as described, which doesn't need any other components as tiles, assuring a very efficient protection against rain or other meteorological and climatic phenomena.
Basically, the invention consists of a self-sustaining modularized device, especially developed for the construction of covering structures for large vains, the device being made in one piece by the injection of a thermoplastic material on a mould, this device having the shape of a vertical empty prism with thin walls, the section of the prism forming an equilateral triangle, this prism doesn't having the upper triangular side, two of the lateral sides being vertically positioned, while the wall of third side is inclined by an angle between 75° and 90° from the horizontal triangular base, the edge between the two vertical sides also having the same angle from horizontal plane, each lateral side presenting two circular holes for two bolts or other kind of junction components, and a third hole, in order the allow a flow of heated air crossing the whole structure. The angle between the base and the third side has a direct relationship with the size of the structure made with these devices. Increasing this angle, we will can cover more larger vains.
Several devices can be linked by their lateral faces, making a curved structure like an arched roof or a barrel-vault, from a side to the other, covering a large vain.
For better understanding of the invention, the drawings referred below show the essential characteristics of a device equipped with the new electronic circuit, as described:
Fig. 1 : view on perspective of a self-sustaining modularized device, according with this patent;
Fig. 2: upper view of some devices linked, composing a small part of a structure;.
Fig. 3: view of a horizontal arched structure made with these devices;
Fig. 4: view of a vertical structure, like the external wall of a grain elevator, obtained by linking these devices..
In accordance with the two drawings, the invention is a new self- sustaining modularized device ( 1 ), especially developed for the construction of covering structures for large vains, the device being made in one piece by the injection of a thermoplastic material on a mould, this device having the shape of a vertical empty prism with thin walls, with its base ( 2 ) forming an equilateral triangle, this device doesn't having the upper triangular side, the lateral sides ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) being vertically positioned, while the wall of third side ( 5 ) is inclined by an angle between 75° and 90° from the horizontal triangular base ( 2 ), the edge ( 6 ) between the two vertical sides ( 3 ) and ( 4 ) also having the same angle from horizontal plane, each lateral side ( 3 ), ( 4 ) and ( 5 ) presenting two circular holes ( 7 ) for two bolts or other kind of junction components, and a third hole ( 8 ), larger, in order the allow a flow of heated air crossing the whole structure. The angle between the base ( 2 ) and the inclined side ( 5 ) of this device determines the size of the structure obtained. By increasing this angle, we can to a higher and larger structure, covering more larger vains.
Several devices can be linked by their lateral faces, making a curved structure like an arched roof or a barrel-vault, from a side to the other, covering a very large vain.
All self-sustaining modularized devices equipped like these above described, differing only by their materials, size or other secondary characteristics, remains attached to he scope of this patent.
