Abstract

The invention concerns a labelling method for protocol requiring that two references are successively affixed on the same support, such as a sampling bottle, which consists in printing the final reference (3) on the label (1), covering said reference with a removable mask (4) and printing the initial reference (5) on the mask.

Description

QUESTION OF QUESTION

The present invention relates to a labeling process, intended more particularly, but not exclusively, in the scientific field for the identification of receptacles containing samples such as, for example, vials or tubes.

In the medical field, in particular, it is necessary to take samples from subjects and to analyze these samples to determine, for example, the effectiveness or the harmfulness of a substance.

International recommendations in the field of clinical studies impose certain precautions. Thus, the doctor or the person administering the product to be tested to a subject should not know the nature of the product (active product or placebo). The laboratory analyzing the samples must not know the origin or identity of the donor or the nature of the product he has received.

The doses to be administered are assigned a reference, a reference by subject, and this reference makes it possible to identify the nature of the product.

When a sample is taken, this reference, which identifies the product and the subject, is applied to the sample bottle.

By using an external speaker, all the references carried on the bottles are modified from a concordance list established randomly. Thus, the reference "125" could become the final reference "21" and the reference "126" could become "76", so that no link could be established by the laboratory between the bottle "21" and that " 76 ".

The problem arises at the level of the manual operation consisting in modifying the reference of the bottles. The person in charge of this operation has a concordance list and labels corresponding to the final references. Each time this person grasps a bottle, he must read the initial reference, compare it to the concordance list to find the final reference to be affixed, then apply the label corresponding to this reference, on the bottle, after having masked the reference d 'origin. Such an operation is therefore long and costly but, moreover, as it leaves a large part to visual recognition and handling, many errors are to be feared. Added to this is the fact that it is not good for the cross-reference sheet to pass between different hands.

The labeling method of the invention, which overcomes these drawbacks, consists of printing the final reference on the label, then masking this reference using a removable cover and finally printing the initial reference on this hidden.

It follows from this process that the two references are worn on the label during the manufacture thereof and that the same label is used throughout the operation. In this way, errors due to manipulation are avoided. It should also be noted that removing the cache is a very rapid operation which does not involve any intellectual mechanism at the level of the operator, to whom, moreover, it is not necessary to entrust the list of concordance.

The present invention will be better understood from the description which follows made with reference to the drawing appended as an indicative example only, in which Figures 1 to 3 illustrate, in perspective, the three main phases of the process of the invention .

Referring to the drawing, it can be seen that 1 is an identification label comprising an area 2 in which the final reference 3 is printed, the letter "A" in the example chosen.

A mask 4 is then applied to the area 2. According to one embodiment, this mask can be obtained by printing with the aid of a opacifying scratch-off ink.

Finally the initial reference 5 is printed on the cover 4, the letter

"MΑ Λ" "in the example chosen.

When sampling, the label, corresponding to the subject, is affixed to the bottle and, in the case of the example chosen, this initial reference is the letter M. A worker then scratches the area 2 blackened to destroy the cache and reveal the final reference, in this case the letter "A". At this stage there is no longer any link to link the two references, apart from the usual cross-reference list, which can be kept completely secret until the end of evaluation operations.

As these labels are applied to transparent bottles and the printing ink always penetrates the support, it may be possible to read the final reference transparently and thus fraudulently reconstruct the concordance list.

To remedy this risk, the back 6 of the label is printed to opacify it, preferably using a striated print in black. This printing is carried out before depositing the usual adhesive layer.

Claims

1 - Labeling process for protocol requiring successively affixing two references on the same support, such as a sample bottle, consisting of printing the final reference (3) on the label (1), covering this reference using a removable cover (4) and printing the initial reference (5) on the cover.

2-A method according to claim 1, characterized in that the cover is produced by printing using a removable ink.

3-A method according to any one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the back of the label is opacified by a striated print, preferably black.
