Abstract

The present invention relates to articles commonly used at home and related to the practice of religious rites. This invention more precisely relates to a compact, decorative and image-containing device that comprises an icon-type image which can be illuminated. This device can be used in various situations, more particularly during car shows or as a pocket souvenir, and exhibits improved aesthetic and image properties. The device of the present invention comprises a panel which supports a religious type image and which is attached on a body containing a light source. The panel consists of a positive and preferably colour photographic film, while the light source and said panel are separated by a semi-transparent screen for scattering light. In a second embodiment, the article comprises a removable body in the shape of an egg, wherein the upper part of the body which corresponds to the pointed tip of the egg is used as a switch for the light source, while the lower part of the body which corresponds to the blunt end of the egg contains a decorative element such as an icon.
