Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif de traitement de trames (200) amélioré, destiné à un réseau, qui assure un traitement rapide des trames. Le dispositif (200) utilise une combinaison de matériel fixe et de matériel programmable pour effectuer le traitement de réseau, notamment le traitement de trames et le contrôle d'accès au support (M.A.C.). Quoique pouvant être appliqué de manière générale au traitement de trames dans les réseaux, le dispositif amélioré (200) de l'invention est particulièrement bien adapté aux réseaux locaux à jeton et aux réseaux Ethernet. L'invention peut être mise en oeuvre de multiples manières, notamment sous forme de dispositif, de circuit intégré ou d'équipement de réseau.
