Abstract

A hybrid loudspeaker system which can reproduce sounds with high fidelity over the full audio frequency band without using any dividing network by using a loudspeaker using a piezoelectric vibrator as a tweeter and a well known dynamic loudspeaker as a woofer. The tweeter has a structure in which piezoelectric vibrators are arranged in a layered state to achieve the same sound pressure level as the average sound pressure level of the woofer and has a flat sound pressure level characteristic in the frequency band of 500-20,000 Hz. The tweeter, in addition, has a characteristic that its impedance drops as the frequency becomes higher. The dynamic loudspeaker used as a woofer for producing low-pitched sounds has a characteristic that its impedance drops as the frequency becomes lower. Thus, a hybrid loudspeaker system can be constituted without using any dividing network by connecting the tweeter and woofer in parallel.
