  • An additional benefit of providing the status of all of the events and devices coupled to the system in one graphical user interface is that it allows the director to over ride device assignments and channel assignments based on the status of the devices as viewed at the interface. For example, the director may override the channel assignment to maintain continuity if there are two back to back audio clips directed to different channels. In addition, if one of the devices becomes unavailable, the director may easily modify the run down to change device assignments of subsequent events.
  • FIG 2 An example graphical user interface and associated functions have been described and illustrated in Figure 2, it should be understood that the user interface may be augmented to provide other types of functions that facilitate broadcast production. Thus the graphics user interface is meant only as an example, and not intended to be limiting, but rather intended to introduce a concept of centralized production control.

Abstract

La présente invention concerne un sous-système de gestion informatisé permettant, dans le cadre d'un système de production d'informations, une gestion centralisée pendant l'émission. En l'occurrence, un poste de travail directeur est couplé à un serveur, lui-même couplé à différents périphériques externes utilisables pendant la diffusion radio ou la présentation d'images vidéo ou audio. Le poste de travail directeur utilise une interface graphique permettant d'afficher une liste d'événements susceptibles de se produire pendant la production. Les événements considérés sont ceux des événements qui sont susceptibles d'être passés à l'antenne depuis l'un des périphériques couplés. Un directeur occupant le poste de travail a alors la possibilité de contrôler la production de tous les types d'événements depuis une station de contrôle centralisée. Pour sélectionner un événement ou une séquence d'événements destinés à la production, le directeur peut simplement sélectionner un événement d'une liste d'événements. L'événement se diffusera alors sans que le directeur ait à connaître de caractéristiques particulières du périphérique utilisé pour la présentation de l'événement. Le poste de travail directeur est couplé à un serveur. Ce serveur comporte un logiciel de gestion permettant de faire l'interface avec le fonctionnement de tous les périphériques couplés en externe et d'en commander le fonctionnement. Etant donné qu'il constitue un passage obligé centralisé pour les communications entre le poste de travail directeur et les périphérique, ce serveur est à même de transmettre au poste de travail directeur des informations d'état sur les périphériques, ce qui facilite la réaffectation des ressources par le directeur.
