Description

Device at Teed automatic machine for birds
The present invention relates to an arrangement for an automatic feeder for birds consisting of a number of feed holders supported by a rotating attachment hub, which feed holders are connected to the hub via supporting arms. Previously disclosed automatic feeders are complicated with regard to their construction and assembly. The principal object of the present invention is thus, in the first instance, to solve the aforementioned problem by simple means.
Said object is achieved by means of an arrangement in accordance with the present invention, which is characterized essentially in that the hub is capable of division across its axis of rotation, in that at least one half of the hub exhibits radially oriented guide devices to accommodate at least one part of a supporting arm, in that an least one half of the hub exhibits axially oriented openings to accommodate the end part of the supporting arms, and in that the two halves of the hub are so arranged as to be pressed against one another by means of connecting devices. The invention is described below as a preferred illustrative example with reference to the accompanying drav/ings, in which:
Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of an automatic bird feeder in its effective oositior. ;
" Λ - t 1
Fig. 3 shows a further, ore detailed view of z'r. automatic bird feeder; and
Fig. 4 shows the hub in a partially sectioned viev.-. An arrangement 1 for an automatic feeder 2, which is intended for birds 3 and consists of a number of feed containers 22 arranged so that they are supported by an attachment hub 6 capable of rotating about a bearing shaft 5, has the feed containers 4 supported in such a way that they are connected to the hub 6 via supporting arms 7. In accordance with the invention, the hub 6 is so arranged as to be capable of division across 8 its axis of rotation 5. At least one half 9, 10 of the hub exhibits radially oriented guide devices 11, 12, which are so adapted as to accommodate at least one end part 13 of a supporting arm 7. At least one half 9 of the hub exhibits axially oriented openings 14 to accommodate the end part 15 of the respective supporting arm 7. The two aforementioned halves 9, 10 of the hub are in this case so arranged as to be pressed together by means of connecting devices 16 so that they lie closely against one another.
The aforementioned guide devices preferably consist of grooves 11, 12 in the form of shaped depressions in the half/halves 9/10 of the hub in question, and the two halves 9, 10 of the hub appropriately exhibit guide devices 11, 12 of the kind in question.
The guide devices 11, 12 are arranged in pairs situated directly opposite one another in the two halves 9, 10 of the hub and in pairs in line with one another, and are so arranged as to fully enclose a part 13 of a guided supporting arm 7.
The respective opening consists of an axially oriented hole 14, which is so adapted as to accommodate therein a bent end part 15 of a supporting arm 7, and which is situated at the inner end 17 of the respective guide devices 11, 12.
For the purpose of holding the hub 6 together, a number of bolts 16 extend all the way through the two halves 9, 10 of the hub in order to clamp the halves 9, 10 of the hub to the supporting arms 7 accommodated between the halves 9, 10 of the hub.
One half 10 of the hub can exhibit shaped accommodating openings 18, each of which accommodates a bolt head 19 or a nut 20 in such a way that it is incapable of rotating in it.
In order to permit the automatic feeder 2 to rotate easily and to be suspended simply, the hub 6 is slid onto a hub shaft 5 that is transformed into a suspension part 21, which is axially displaced from the hub 6. Food dishes or other containers 22 are suspended at the extremity of the supporting arms 7 and are retained there with the help of stop sleeves 24 slid onto angled parts 23 of the supporting arms . A simple arrangement 1 of this kind is achieved by means of the invention, which is not restricted to the depicted and described illustrative example, but may be varied within the scope of the Patent Claims without departing from the idea of invention.
