Abstract

A resistance apparatus includes a generally drum shaped housing (130) having a shaft opening and a shaft (136). The housing also has a cable opening for receiving a cable (160), and a cylindrical reel (140) on the shaft (136). The reel (140) contains a spiral spring (150) having a first end connected to the shaft, and a second end connected to the reel (140), and cable (160).
