Abstract

A Smart Card electromechanical acceptor device (10) for insertion into an electronic information system, provided as a sealed plastic case having a printed circuit board (20) seated therein and an arrangement of spring-loaded balls (28) providing electrical connection between the Smart Card (15) and the printed circuit board (20), without the need for soldering, by point pressure contact of the balls (28) on contact pads (25) of the Smart Card (15).
