Definitions
- the present invention relates to an optimally designed female incontinence shield - sanitary napkin intended to give its wearer an easily applied and thus reliably non-leaking incontinence shield with a high level of comfort without seals that chafe against the body and is designed to the natural triangular female anatomical shape at the urinary organ.
- the purpose of the present invention is to eliminate the known drawbacks that impair existing incontinence shields. Consequently, it has long since been known that application difficulties cause leakage problems with conventional hourglass-shaped incontinence shields on the baby diaper concept and that even the location and design of the seals in other configurative designs also imply discomfort for the wearer as well as being leakage risk initiators.
- Figure 1 shows an outer i.e. applied against the body's urinary organ liquid- permeable material (1) e.g. nonwoven and also beneath it a preconfigured (4) liquidproof layer (2) of e.g. a polyethylene film, which layers enclose an absorption body (3) and a possibly a conventionally located dispersion layer above the absorption body (3), in that the liquid-permeable material (1) e.g. nonwoven also at the bottom encloses the liquidproof layer (2) thus located under the absorption body (3).
- the liquidproof layer (2) on the upper side of the absorption body (3) is preconfigured (4) so that it forms a liquidproof surface (7) overlapped across the absorption body's (3) bottom edge surface (5) and side edge surfaces (6) across the absorption body (3).
- the liquidproof surface (7) which as shown in Figure 1 has the shape of an angled U-shape will in that the liquid-permeable material (1) lying across the absorption body (3) has also been folded around the edge surfaces (5) and (6) thereby lying on the outside of the liquidproof layer (2) with its liquidproof surface (7), thanks to the liquid-permeable material (1) and the liquidproof layer (2) at the bottom of the incontinence napkin's surface facing the panties, be able to form a common seal line placed in the centre.
- This means provides an incontinence shield without seals in the longitudinal sides.
- This criterion for optimally soft sides implies, together with the absorption body's (3) soft contours also having been adapted to the natural female triangular configuration at the urinary organ, a comfort optimisation.
- there is consequently also eliminated the leakage risk criterion with the U-angled liquidproof surface (7) thus overlapped across the bottom edge surface (5) and providing across the absorption body (3) such an important liquid-impermeable surface against overfilling.
- the incontinence shield can be horizontally bottom-sealed (10) in the X-Y plane or vertically bottom-sealed (9) in its extension with the seal line (8) in the Y-Z plane. It is thus also adapted to the absorption body's (3) greater urinal absorption capacity thickness so that in accordance with the invention there is also obtained an applicatively simpler and more reliably non-leaking incontinence shield where the preferably triangularly shaped absorption body (3) also reinforces leakage reliability by being designed to be thicker at the sides and or progressively towards its bottom.
- the incontinence shield is sealed in the seal line (11) in the Y-X plane in that the liquid-permeable material (1) in its funnel-like bag shape in Figure 1 encloses both the absorption body (3) and the equally long liquidproof layer (2) with the overlapping liquidproof surface (7) generated across the absorption body (3) in the invention.
- the invention has been presented in the greatest confidentiality to closely associated experts who all praise the incontinence shield's degree of invention in that there is today on the market no known incontinence shield where one has invented a practically implementable concept with any form of all-round upwards folding of the leakproof layer (2).
- This is thanks to a version where the application's pomfort and the leakage criteria have definitely been optimised relative to a known version.
