Abstract

Methods of identifying compounds capable of affecting binding of a secretion associated 17S (SA-17S) complex to a syntaxin-containing (SC) complex are disclosed. Compounds identified by such methods are useful for modulating vesicular release, such as release at neural synapses. The invention also includes selected proteins which make up the SA-17S complex.
