Abstract

The invention generally relates to devices and methods for producing and using ozone. More specifically, the invention deals with a device and a process to produce activated ozone structures. According to the invention, the device for producing ozone comprises a high voltage power source, at least two electrodes placed at a distance from each other and a dielectric located between them, whereby said dielectric forms at least one path of flow along the electrodes for the dissociation of incoming oxygen and at least one of the electrodes has holes. In the device the holes connect the path of flow to the path of discharge where no high voltage is available. According to the corresponding method gas is directed from the path of flow through the holes of the electrode into a path of discharge where no high voltage is specifically available. The invention also relates to devices and methods for pollutant and pest control, including cleansing, rendering harmless, neutralization or treatment of poisonous liquids or residues in, for instance, emptied containers and conduits.
