Abstract

Cette invention concerne un dispositif qui permet de jouer du piano en appuyant sur des touches choisies au hasard. Ce dispositif est utilisé dans un piano qui comprend un ensemble d'unités mécaniques correspondant à des notes prédéterminées, ainsi qu'un clavier se composant de touches qui ne sont pas directement connectées aux unités mécaniques. Ce dispositif comprend les éléments suivants: (a) deux ensembles de mécanismes d'actionnement dont l'un est couplé aux touches du clavier, tandis que l'autre est couplé aux unités mécaniques; (b) deux ensembles de capteurs de position dont l'un est couplé aux touches du clavier, tandis que l'autre est couplé aux unités mécaniques; (c) un dispositif de mémoire dans lequel est enregistrée la partition codée d'une oeuvre que l'on doit exécuter; et (d) un dispositif de commande qui va déterminer des valeurs de force en fonction des informations provenant de capteurs de position correspondants. En fonction de ces valeurs, les mécanismes d'actionnement, qui sont couplés aux touches et aux unités mécaniques, vont agir sur chaque touche enfoncée par l'exécutant, ainsi que sur l'unité mécanique qui correspond à la note suivante de l'oeuvre à exécuter. Ces mécanismes permettent ainsi d'imiter les forces d'action et de réaction comme si la touche enfoncée se trouvait en interaction directe avec ladite unité mécanique.
