Abstract

The invention concerns a method of optically detecting an electrical variable (I), periodic dependency being established between the optical measuring signal and the electrical variable (I) to be measured. According to the invention, two optical, periodically dependent measuring signals are used to obtain an unequivocal measuring signal. The resultant measured values are used as a value pair for unequivocally allocating an absolute value of the electrical variable (I).
