Abstract

The invention relates to a process for expanding a unidirectional paging network to form a quasi-bidirectional paging network. Said paging network is connected to a mobile radiotelephone network via an interface in the form of a direct data connection, so that direct data exchange is possible between the paging network and the mobile radiotelephone network. A paging call is sent to a terminal in a known manner via the paging network, but the transmission of acknowledgement signals for a particular paging call and/or the transmission of other signals and messages are performed by the terminal via signalling channels of the mobile radiotelephone network by which the transmitted signals are forwarded via the direct data connection to the paging network and processed therein.
