Abstract

The invention relates to a process for high-bit-rate digital signal transmission on local lines to exchange data between two stations with digital signals which enable a transmission of 3 Mbits/s in both directions. The digital signals are also transmitted in a frequency band above the speech band, and the frequency band for the digital signals is divided into a plurality of subchannels. The subchannels are equally allocated to the two transmission directions to achieve symmetrical data transmission.
