Description

Device at a trap for insects
The present invention relates to a device at a trap for insects which trap is especially intended for trapping cockroaches and which is formed by a foldable sheet with a bottom provided with adhesive trapping agent and walls and a roof with opening through the walls and gable-ends and a handle.
Insect traps according to the above are known where the handle is detached from the bottom of the trap and is pivoted out 180°. The trap requires a separate insert card, onto which adhesive trapping agent is applied, because any complete bottom otherwise will not be present owing to the pivoting out of said handle. Said construction is expensive and complicated to produce said handle does not lead to the desired stability inasmuch as it is torn out of the perforated bottom all the way out to the edge.
The mam object with the present invention is therefore primally to solve the mentioned problem with simple and functioning means.
Said object is achieved by means of a device according to the present invention which is essentially characterized m that the bottom is formed by a central part of said sheet and that the handle is formed by a foldable part of a sidepart of the sheet .
The invention is described here below as a preferred embodiment, wherein it is referred to the accompanying drawings in which,
Fig 1 shows a sheet of which the trap is manufactured, m a flat position seen from its underside,
Fig 2 shows the trap in a partially erected position, Fig 3 shows the trap in erected position seen from above, and
Fig 4 shows a perspective view of the trap in erected position seen from the side.
A device 1 at a trap 2 for insects according to the present invention, which is especially intended for trapping cockroaches, and which is formed by a foldable sheet 3 with a bottom 5 provided with a adhesive trapping agent 4 and walls 6, 7 and a roof 8, 9 suitable openings 10-13 through the walls 6, 7 and the gable-ends and a handle 14, consisting of a single piece. In greater detail, the bottom 5 is formed by the central part A of said sheet 3 and the handle 14 is formed by a foldable part B of a sidepart C, D of the sheet 3 which is connected at each side of the central part A.
Preferably, the sheet 3 is made of cardboard material with folding lines 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 between the parts A, C, D and along designated fold lines for parts of the trap 2 which is arranged to be formed by said sheet 3.
Thus, the outer edge part B of said the one sidepart C is flap shaped and is a punched out part of the sheet 3. In order to obtain sufficient length for the formed handle 14, the flap shaped part B of the sheet 3 extends from one short side 20 of the sidepart C and at least past the central part of the sidepart C, but preferably all the way up to the area adjacent the second opposite short side 21 of said side part C. A fold line 22 extends across the sidepart C at the connecting end 23 of the flap shaped part B from the sheet outer edge 24 to a perforation 25 along which the handle 14 is separated from the sheet 3 when the trap is erected before pivoting up around said fold line 22 which thereby forms a pivot point for the handle 14.
The central part A of the sheet 3 is coated with adhesive non-polluting insect trapping agent 4 along a substantial part of the inwards turned bottom surface 5A of the central part A.
The short sides 26, 27 of said bottom forming central part A is particularly formed by along the edge fold lines 19 upwards foldable bottom flaps which form a trough shaped bottom 5 with on it deposited insect trapping agent 4 which is prevented from running out onto the floor when the trap 2 is pushed into its designated trapping location after sanitation of intended premises where e.g. cockroaches have been haunting. In order to obtain good adaptation of the bottom 5 and walls 6, 7 to each other, the sideparts C, D and the bottom central part A of said sheet 3 exhibits obliquely cut corners 28, 29, 30, 31 facing each other and being formed by wedge shaped apertures 32 between the sheet parts C-A and A-D respectively. Said corners 28-31 are arranged to co-operate with each other when folding up the bottom flaps 26, 27 when the trap 2 is arranged in its erected trapping position, for example as is shown in Fig 4.
The sideparts C, D exhibit an opening 10, 11 which is formed by a through-cut 33 into the respective sidepart C, D, more specifically due to that a U-formed through-cut 33 start with its shanks from a folding line 17, 18 at the respective sidepart C, D which is meant to be folded. The handle 14 is received between foldable parts (34, 35) of the sideparts C, D in folded active trapping state, see Fig 3 and 4.
The trap 2 is locked in its folded erected trapping condition F by means of a formed locking tongue 36 which is extended along the edge of the perforation 25 for the handle B and which locking tongue 36 is received in a corresponding slit 37 in the meeting part 9 of the sheet part D. The trap may be pushed into position at hard to reach trapping locations by means of the handle 14, which projects in the direction 38 from the trapping part which is provided with adhesive 4, and which is firmly and securely fixed in folded over position where it is desired to locate the trap 2, e.g. below furniture, cupboards, ventilation spaces etc., and may also be pulled out therefrom after the trapping period and be thrown away.
It should also be mentioned that the designated adhesive trapping agent 4 is protected by a protective layer that may be pulled away before the trap 2 is mounted m its active trapping position F, in order to prevent that the extremely sticky adhesive agent 4 get caught in different objects and also people when they handle the trap.
The invention is not limited to the above mentioned and on the drawings described form of execution, but may be varied within the scope of the claims without departing from the concept of the invention.
