Description

SAW BLADE SUPPORT b
Technical Field
The invention relates to a saw blade support for
1 0 clamping the blades in the saw frame, especially for clamping a saw blade for cutting off side plates of a block of wood.
Background of the Invention
A system of saw blaαes is usually fixed in a saw frame by means of a fixed joint to a clamp at a lower bar of a movable frame, e.g. by means of pins passing through
2 0 holes made in saw blades and in the clamp, and at the saw frame upper bar the saw blades are clamped between distance inserts only by means of friction.
A usual thickness of saw blades usually varies within
2 5 the range of 0.8 up to 1.0 mm. Thicker saw blades having min. thickness of 2 mm are used as outside blades for cutting off side plates of the cutted block of wood. These thicker saw blades do not allow for proper tension of thin blades and because of their slightly different resilience
3 0 the thinner saw blades become loose during operation. The same problem comes in question in a case when outside saw blades are provided with a supporting element made of steel, aluminium or any other material.
It is an aim of the invention to achieve an even tension of all saw blades in the frame regardless to their eventual different thickness. Disclosure and Object of the Invention
The above mentioned aim is achieved and foregoing problems of existing embodiments are solved by means of a saw blade support in accordance with the present invention, the support comprising a bar with at least one o bearing surface for fixing at least saw blade, the bar being at one end furnished with means for a fixed joint with the saw frame and at the other end equipped with means for a sliding connection with a holder for clamping in the saw frame. Also according to the invention, the means for the sliding connection of the bar with the holder comprise at least one guide pin seating in coaxially arranged guidings in mutually adjacent parts of the bar and the holder, whereby the guiding pin is in the guiding of the bar and/or of the holder seated in a sliding way. In the preferred embodiment the bar is provided with two plane-parallelly aranged faces.
It is an adavantage of the invention, that the mutually sliding joint of two parts of the support, i.e. of 5 the bar and the holder, equalizes mutual differences in tension of saw blades of different thickness caused by their different thermal expansion, eventually rigidity. Saw blades of greater thickness maintain their high rigidity and because of precise sliding connection of both parts of the holder do not prevent other saw blades from keeping their proper tension. Saw blades may be removed from the holder, sharpened and mounted again.
Brief Description of the Drawings 5
The invention shall be further illustrated by way of examples presented in the accompanying drawings, where Fig. 1 shows a front view on a part of the holder with two attached saw blades in a partial section, and 5 Fig. 2 presents the arrangement according to Fig. 1, the arrangement being illustrated in a lateral view.
Description of Preferred Embodiments 0
Referring to the embodiment presented in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, there is shown a saw blade support for fixing saw blades in a saw frame, the support comprising a bar 1, which is attached by means of a movabla joint to 5 a holder 2 for fixing in the saw frame upper clamp. Side, plane-parallel faces of the bar 1 form bearing surfaces, to each of which there is by means of screws 3 fixed one saw blade 4, whereby teeth of the saw blade 4 overlap the bar 1 width. The bearing surface for the saw blade 4 may be ° also created as a step or a recess on a side wall of the bar 1 where the saw blaαe 4 is seated. At a lower edge, with respect to operational position of the bar 1 and saw blades 4 after being fixed in the saw frame, the bar 1 is provided with means for fixing in the saw frame lower 5 clamp. In the illustrated embodiment the said means are formed by two assembly holes 5, arranged coaxially with identically formed holes in both adjacent saw blades 4. The saw blades 4 nevertheless need not be of of the same length as the bar 1, they may be both shorter as well as longer. ° In the second case the meams for fixing the blades in the saw frame lower clamp are substantially formed only by assembly holes 5, created in respective saw blades 4. The means of a movable joint υf the bar 1 with the holder 2, as seen in the illustrated embodiment, are formed by two guide 5 pins 6, seated in parallelly arranged guidings 7,8 which are formed in adjacent parts of the bar 1 and the holder 2. In the first guiding 7, located in the bar 1, the pins 6 are seated in a sliding way, while in the second guiding 8, ie . in the holder 2, they are fixed. The mode of seating of pins 6 in the guidings 7,8 may be mutually changed, eventually the pins 6 may be slidingly seated in both guidings 7,8. The means for a movable connection of the bar 1 with the holder 2 may be carried out even in other way, known as such, but it is essential that it comprise o a sliding joint of the support parts.
Application of mea:.~s of a dismantable connection, e.g. screws 3, as described above, for fixing the saw blades 4 onto the bar 1, enables the saw blades 4 to be 5 removed from the support, sharpenned and mounted back.
Industrial applications
0 The present invention is designed for frame saws for cutting wood blocks, especially for small fine cutting fraame saws .
