Abstract

Système et procédés de freinage permettant de ralentir ou de stopper un patin à roulettes en ligne. Ledit système de freinage comporte un élément mâle qui est fixé à une extrémité arrière de la structure de patin. Un élément femelle se trouve en contact coulissant avec l'élément mâle si bien que ledit élément femelle peut être rapproché et éloigné de la surface de patinage. L'élément femelle peut également pivoter dans un plan vertical qui passe à travers un axe longitudinal de la structure pendant le mouvement de translation. Un patin de frein est fixé à l'élément femelle et un moyen permet la translation de l'élément femelle par rapport à l'élément mâle de manière à mettre le patin de frein en contact avec la surface de patinage.
