Abstract

In one embodiment, there is disclosed a system (10) for positioning a pointing device such as a computer mouse relative to a computer keyboard (208). The system (10) comprises a keyboard support tray (204) having a support surface (210) and a rear wall (216). The support surface (204) is adapted to support the keyboard (208). The system (10) further comprises a palm rest (206) connected to the keyboard support tray (204). The system (10) further comprises a bracket member (203) having a mounting portion (244) and a channel portion (246). The mounting portion (244) of the bracket member (203) is adapted to engage with the rear wall (216) of the keyboard support tray (204). The system (10) further comprises a pointing device positioning member (202) having a support surface (226), a first end (228) and a second end (232). The first end (228) of the pointing device positioning member (202) is slidably disposed upon the palm rest (206) while the second end (232) is slidably engaged within the channel (246) of the bracket member (203). In operation, an operator may slide the pointing device positioning member (202) to any one of a variety of positions above the computer keyboard (208).
