A laminated glass or plastic sheet (2) has a plurality of holes (3) which accommodate holders (11, 12) for insect meshes (10). Such sheets (2) offer security for windows whilst maintaining ventilation.
Description
VENTILATED ANTI INSECT SCREEN (V.A.I.S.)
This invention relates to "VENTILATED ANTI INSECT SCREEN" (V.A.I.S.)
V.A.I.S. is something new on the market place, and has been invented for use in windows, doors, ceilings and conservatories of residential and commercial buildings in countries that suffer from disease carrying mosquitos and other insects. V.A.I.S. will replace the conventional tropical mesh screens, that are currently in use in those countries. When fitted V.A.I.S. will offer far greater protection indoors, against mosquitos and other insects, than the current conventional tropical mesh screen.
V.A.I.S. can be fitted as a sealed unit, or as a unit that opens (in the event of a fire), to fit any size of window, door, ceiling and conservatory, V.A.I.S. can be purchased in laminated glass, plate glass or perspex (in a variety of colours), set in either an aluminium, wood or uPVC frames, with holes strategical placed, that houses the anti insect mesh holder.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which
Figure 1 shows V.A.I.S. in a typical elevation of an installed window. This can be of the fixed or opening type.
Figure 2 shows V.A.I.S. as a section through figure 1.
Figure 3 shows V.A.I.S. optional internal folding shutter.
Figure 4 shows in detail V.A.I.S. anti insect mesh holder.
Figure 5 shows the method of fixing the frame into an existing opening.
Figure 6 shows alternative V.A.I.S. anti insect mesh holder to that shown in figure 4.
REFERRING TO THE DRAWINGS THE FOLLOWING FEATURES APPLIES.
FEATURE 1 shows frame.
FEATURE 2 shows laminated glass, plate glass or perspex.
FEATURE 3 shows anti insect mesh holder.
FEATURE 4 shows frame fixing.
FEATURE 5 shows existing brick work of opening.
FEATURE 6 shows optional internal folding shutter (shown closed).
FEATURE 6a as feature 6 but shown folded.
FEATURE 7 shows shutter brackets for feature 6 & 6a.
FEATURE 8 shows gasket for feature 2.
FEATURE 9 shows metal thread inserts for strength for feature 1.
FEATURE 10 shows double layer of anti insect mesh for feature 3 tfa
FEATURE 11 shows front lourved section of anti insect mesh holder.
FEATURE 12 shows backing ring of anti insect- mesh holder.
FEATURE 13 shows side view of feature 11.
FEATURE 14 shows click press feature of feature 11.
FEATURE 15 shows locating notch to keep anti insect mesh holder square,
FEATURE 16 shows alternative version of anti insect mesh holder.
Claims
VENTILATED ANTI INSECT SCREEN (V.A.I.S.)
V.A.I.S. can be fitted as a sealed unit, or as a unit that opens (in the event of a fire), to fit any size of window, door, ceiling and conservatory. V.A.I.S. can be purchased in laminated glass, plate glass or perspex (in a variety of colours), set in either an aluminium, wood or uPVC frames, with holes strategical placed, that houses the anti insect mesh holder. V.A.I.S. offers a high degree of security to the building, when fitted with the laminated glass unit. V.A.I.S. does not restrict the flow of fresh air into the building. V.A.I.S. allows easy exit from the building in the event of a fire. V.A.I.S. provides clear visibility, and is easy to clean. V.A.I.S. will not shatter or collapse (where fitted with the laminated glass unit) thus reducing the possibility of injury. V.A.I.S. is easy to install and requires the inumium of maintenance. V.A.I.S. reduces heat gain internally (where fitted with the bronze colour laminated glass unit). V.A.I.S. conforms to British Standard BS 6206 Class A (laminated glass unit). V.A.I.S. will be in demand by builders and construction companies in Africa, Middle East, Near & Far East, U.S.A., Canada, Australia, South Africa, South America, West Indies, Spain, Portugal and parts of Russia, in the construction of new buildings. V.A.I.S. would also be installed in existing buildings. V.A.I.S. can be installed in a building of most types of construction. V.A.I.S. has been invented to combat the spread of malaria indoors. V.A.I.S. has undergone stringent medical tests that proves by installing V.A.I.S., the reduction in mosquito and other insect bites therefore significantly reduces insect carrying diseases.
