Abstract

La présente invention concerne un système servant à introduire le carburant dans la chambre de combustion (13) d'un moteur à combustion interne (10) comportant au moins un piston (14) qui accomplit des va-et-vient dans un cylindre (12), avec une culasse (16) qui ferme le haut du cylindre et forme une chambre de combustion entre le piston et elle-même. Au moins une soupape d'admission (22) et une soupape d'échappement (24) sont prévues dans la culasse (16). Un ou plusieurs injecteurs de carburant (34) traversent la paroi latérale de chacun des cylindres (12) du moteur pour injecter du carburant pendant la course d'admission du piston, alors que le sommet de ce dernier se trouve au-dessous du point d'injection. L'injecteur de carburant (34) peut être tout injecteur approprié, généralement du type à basse pression.
