Abstract

La présente invention concerne un amortisseur (700) à détente et compression à air ou à gaz, destiné à une bicyclette. Cet amortisseur est constitué d'un cylindre (702) présentant une extrémité fermée (706) et une extrémité ouverte formant chambre de compression (710), et d'une tige creuse (704) présentant une extrémité fermée et une extrémité ouverte, l'extrémité ouverte de la tige creuse (704) étant capable d'un mouvement alternatif dans le cylindre (702) au travers de l'extrémité ouverte du cylindre. En l'occurrence, un piston (712) monté en relation étanche dans l'extrémité ouverte de la tige creuse (704), présente une relation de coulissement étanche contre la surface interne du cylindre, constituant ainsi dans la tige creuse une chambre de rebond (720). En outre, une chambre de détente à gaz est constituée entre une surface externe de la tige creuse et une surface interne du cylindre, la chambre de détente à gaz (734) communiquant avec la chambre de rebond (720) pendant au moins une partie de la course de compression et de rebond de l'amortisseur. Cet amortisseur comporte enfin un plateau de compression monté en relation étanche dans la tige creuse (704), la position du plateau de compression (716) étant sélectivement modifiable dans l'axe de la tige creuse (704) de façon à faire varier le volume total de l'amortisseur.
