Abstract

The invention relates to an optoelectronic device with an optoelectronic module (1) comprising a first holder (2) with in particular a semiconductor diode laser amplifier (3) and provided on either side of the amplifier (3) with a second holder (4) comprising a plate (5) with an opening (6) and a tubular lens holder (7) in which a lens (8) is present. The module (1) also comprises a third holder (9) for an optical glass fibre (10) aligned with the amplifier (3) on either side of the amplifier (3). Such a device is particularly suitable as a relay station in an optical glass fibre communication system. A disadvantage of such a module (1) is that it has a sub-optimal and unstable coupling efficiency and is difficult to manufacture. According to the invention, the second holder (4) forms part of the first holder (2) and comprises a bush (11) which is connected to the plate (5) and within which the lens holder (7) is fastened to the plate (5), while the bush (11) is provided with at least one opening (12), preferably three openings (12), near the plate (5). Such a device has an improved, stable coupling efficiency thanks to an improved and symmetrical heat removal from the lens holder (7), thanks to an improved robustness, and thanks to an alignment of the lens (8) with the amplifier (3) which is independent of other alignments. The openings (12) in the bush (11) render it possible to fasten the lens holder (7) to the plate (5). Other components, such as a tubular portion (16) with an optical isolator (17), may be fastened to the bush (11) in a simple manner. As a result, these components also have a good heat removal, while the module (1) can be compact.
