Abstract
Music stands are known and have a supporting plane for the bottom edge of the music paper and a rest plate for the backside of the music paper, which plane and plate are detachably supported by a collapsible stand of legs. It includes at least three legs and supports a vertical pole when being erected, which pole supports the combined support plane and rest plate. In order to provide a music stand, which is collapsible to a form such as the stand of legs (3) in folded state can be accommodated, the support plane (1) is now designed as a box (9), which is connected to the bottom edge of the rest plate (2) and accommodates the legs of the stand (3) when folded and being detached from the support plane and the rest plate. The rest plate (2) is devided in two parts along a line (11), which is parallel with its bottom edge, whereby the top part (12) of the rest plate can be folded down against the under part and the box (9).
Description
MUSIC STAND
The present invention is related to a music stand consisting of a support plane for the bottom edge of the music papers and a rest plate for the back side of the music papers, said support plane and rest plate being supported by a folding stand, which consists of at least three legs and a post which is vertical araised from the three legs when they are erected, and which post supports the joined support plane and rest plate.
The object of the invention is to provide a music stand which is collapsible to a state such as it forms a folded box, in which the legs and the post of the stand can be inserted in collapsed state.
An embodiment of the invention will be described with reference to the enclosed drawings.
Fig. 1 is a view of the music stand in erected state.
Fig. 2 is a view of the music stand in partly erected state.
Fig. 3 is a view showing the music stand almost completely folded and fig. 4 is a view showing a music stand completely folded.
Fig. 5 is a view showing a component of the music stand in its erected position and fig. 6 is a view showing said component partly folded.
The music stand includes a support plane 1 which supports the bottom edge of the music papers and a rest plate 2, which supports the backside of the music papers. The support plane and the rest plate are supported by a stand 3, which includes a post 4 in the form of a telescopic shaft so that it can be slidably shortened. The legs 5 are connected with the pole 4 by means of a sleeve 7 and have collapsible connecting arms 6. By folding the connecting arms 6 upwards and displace the sleeve 7
upwards, the legs 5 can be folded together so that they correspond to the bottom part 8 of the telescopic pole . The pole 4 is detachably connected with the backside of the rest plate 2. This will further be described.
The support plane 1 is designed as a box, which has an open front side, see fig. 2. The box is designated with 9. The length of the box corresponds to the width of the support plane and can accommodate the stand 3 in its folded state. When thus the stand is folded it can be placed within the box 9. A light means 10 is detachably fixed on the top edge of the rest plate 2 and when detached it can be placed on the support plane 1 as can be seen from fig. 2. As can be seen from fig. 2 the rest plate is foldable along a line 11. Thus there is a hinge means (not shown) , which makes it possible to fold a top part 12 of the rest plate forward as shown in fig. 3. As further can be seen from fig. 4 the top part 12 can be folded down completely against the front aside of the box 9, thus forming a lid which covers the light means 10 as well as the stand 3, which are accomodated within the box. The music stand is thus in its folded state in the form of a small box or a kit. When in this state the music stand can easily be carried away and be erected very quickly when a musician so wants.
Fig. 5 and 6 show a connection on the backside of the rest plate 2 for the pole 4 of the stand. Only the top end of the pole 4 is shown in fig. 5 and 6. The folding line 11 for the two parts of the rest plate 2 is shown. A sleevelike element 13 is applied on the backside of the rest plate 2. This can also be seen from figs. 3 and 4. Returning to figs. 5 and 6 the sleeve element 13 is devided at the folding line 11 so that the upper part 14 of it belongs to the top part 12 of the rest plane 2 and the under part 15 belongs to the bottom part of the rest plate 2. The member 13 is in the form of an open sleeve, in which the top part of the pole 4 can be inserted. Thus, the top part 4 of the pole can be inserted in the two parts 14 and 15 of the member 13 when the two parts of the rest plate 2 are in the same plane. Thus, the pole keeps the two parts of the
rest plate in one and the same plane when being supported by the pole. It shall be noted that the open sleeve has such a form that the pole can not pass through but the top of the pole 4 will stay in the upper part of the sleeve part 14. It should be noted that modified designs of the member 13 for the sliding connection between the pole 4 and the backside of the rest plate can be used.
Claims
1. A music stand having a supporting plane for the bottom edge of the music paper and a rest plate for the backside of the music paper, which plane and plate are detachably supported by a collapsible stand of legs, which includes at least three legs and supports a vertical pole when being erected, which pole supports the combined support plane and rest plate, c h a r a c t e r i z e d i n that the support plane (1) is designed as a box (9) , which is connected to the bottom edge of the rest plate (2) and accomodates the legs of the stand (3) when folded and being detached from the support plane and the rest plate, the rest plate (2) being devided in two parts along a line (11), which is parallel with its bottom edge, whereby the top part (12) of the rest plate can be folded down against the under part and the box (9) .
